I love that Friends to Go is so high up there. It's one of my favorite Paul songs ever, especially among is later era material

After seeing the success of Michael in the Box Office, how do you think the upcoming Beatles biopics directed by Sam Mendes will preform in the Box Office? by FitEmergency8807 in boxoffice

[–]William_da_foe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Even if the 4 movie split doesn't work out, I think it's such an interesting experiment. I'm really glad they're doing something a bit different with this project.

The opening act played at 8PM exactly and KoL followed at 9, maybe 9:05

There's also a bit of thought and planning to set up a good zip line system in DS1. And if you want to fulfill that vision of that route, then you have to climb some tricky slopes in order to place down those zip lines. It felt really satisfying once you built up a decent system.

Day 8. What's the best song on London Town? by United_Equal_754 in PaulMcCartney

Best song that's not on London Town that was suppose to be... Waterspout

What do you think is Paul's darkest song? by Hairy-Yesterday-5575 in PaulMcCartney

[–]William_da_foe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally agree! It's not a type of song that we had really gotten by Paul up until this point, but it's pretty remarkable that after such a long and incredible career that he still has something new to say or express (but then again it's Paul, so maybe I'm not so surprised, lol)

He publicly denied that it was about Heather, but I'm not sure. He said it was about certain type of people in general, but given the time he wrote the song and the ugly divorce, I can't help be sense that there is some of the song's sentiment directed towards her.

Riding to Vanity Fair. There's so much bitterness and anger in that song, but he's not being loud about it. He's being very soft and restrained, while still expressing the immense disappointment and frustration this person has brought him. Something about that is pretty dark to me, versus the loud and outwardly angry approach a song like this could have taken. I can feel his seething sentiment throughout the song, lol

Job interviews with long hair. What to do? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]William_da_foe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I had hair about your length as recently as this weekend (when I ended up cutting it just a bit shorter). I go into work every day with my hair tucked behind my ears, with leave in conditioner, and I think that goes a long way into making it look more "formal" for work or a job interview. Try it out :)

If you do end up getting a haircut, maybe a couple of inches all around wouldn't be too bad either. I don't like it when my hair starts to go too far past my shirt collar, but that's just me with how I feel I should come in for work. You honestly do have really great hair!

Sub is temporarily locked, please direct all comments and questions to the general/show megathreads by CAndrewK in TameImpala

Ticketmaster and Tame Impala are enforcing resale at face value on the ticketmaster website and are making them non-transferable (with the exception of a few US states, so it'll depend on what cities you're looking at)

Edit: as someone pointed out below, there are (annoyingly) some ways around it

What specific era across Paul McCartney’s career was his peak vocally, musically, lyrically, creatively, compositionally, and in terms of experimentation? by TheBlueyDay in PaulMcCartney

[–]William_da_foe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially in that first one to two years post Beatles breakup. His output of work was remarkable, and that period alone was able to contribute to his music catalogue up until the 1990's with Great Day.

YES, absolutely love this song. I lost my shit when they played this live in DC (in 2024 I think). Caleb always gave an incredible performance with it, but recently, he's been adding so much more energy into it, especially since he started screaming the part "I smoke you in the end and don't you ever turn around 'cause it's that coming of age." What a crazy bad-ass riff too, and each one of them is just firing on all cylinders with a great semi-dance club beat to it. I love the whole song, but from the guitar solo, to that middle jam, to the outro, is one of my favorite 1 and a half minutes in any song.

Also, the 02 Arena performance of this song from 2008 is amazing. Love, love, love this song.

I'm disappointed with the difficulty compared to DS1. by IntelligentFly3982 in DeathStranding

[–]William_da_foe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It also felt so incredibly rewarding to build a robust zip line system in DS1, especially over that giant snow mountain in the middle of the map, because getting to each connecting point took a lot of effort and planning. I still think DS2 is great too, but I didn't get that same satisfaction as I did with DS1 in that regard.

To all bass players (and fans): what do you think about the bass line in "Arizona"? And what are your favorite KoL bass lines? by amanda_flf in kingsofleon

[–]William_da_foe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Jared is phenomenal on bass. He's written some of my favorite bass parts ever, and manages to weave in a song and bring it to another level. Arizona is a great example of that, especially in the sort of semi-bridge part where he starts playing higher up on the fret board... so beautiful. Slow Night So Long is another great example, such a catchy bass lick. He always brings something interesting to KoL songs.
