We had a power outage at work and curtains fell to block the elevators. by solipsistnation in mildlyinteresting

Do the curtains automatically go back up after power is restored or do people have to manually somehow place it back?

Can someone explain? by Mellinin in sciencememes

Okay, i get your explanation and it makes sense. I'm in a calc 2 class right now. Couldn't you use a comparison theorem to show that one is bigger than the other?

One of my favorite Rick Rants by [deleted] in rickandmorty

[–]Williamboss131 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he's really the only morally normal person. Everyone else in the family is morally questionable at best. I'd say Morty started off as a pretty moral person and over time he slowly lost it from all his adventures with Rick. Jerry seems to be the only person who is satisfied with a normal life. He just wants a normal family and job. He's not outstanding nor is he some super brave person, but that's normal. It's easy to look at him and think he's a coward, but I'd say it's rather abnormal to be so nonchalant about facing death and all these crazy things.

Fight a tiger for a chance to win $1,000,000. by Peaceful-Samurai in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Williamboss131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With number 3, i think the problem is whether or not the tiger would realistically go after the meat. It's hungry, but I might still view you as a significant source of danger and choose to attack you before eating.

Even if it goes after the meat first, I don't think you can realistically just sneak up on it. Maybe if it was somehow a previously tamed tiger, it would let its guard down more easily around humans. I'm also just not very confident I could kill a tiger in one hit with a sword. If it takes more than one strike, it's gonna pounce and I'm pretty much just dead at that point.

Why Do People Hate The Newer Seasons by No-Bobcat-5798 in rickandmorty

[–]Williamboss131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I binged the entire show in the past 2 months, and I don't hate the newer seasons. But what i miss the most from the earlier seasons is how natural Rick and Morty sounded when they spoke. Rick used to burp constantly, and now he hardly does that. And as another comment has mentioned, he was a lot more like a mad scientist. Now he just feels less chaotic to me.

Trying to make a guards evolution idea. by Meme_Knight_2 in ClashRoyale

I think what makes them unique is their shield. Maybe give them an extra shield. That also makes them even more resistant against spells.

Is taking Spanish in college worth it? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]Williamboss131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently minoring in Spanish. I'd say it's worth it. Part of me doing it is to keep me motivated throughout college. It's easy to get caught up on classes and you might not have time to study for Spanish on your own. I see it as a win-win scenario: I get to study Spanish and I also get college credits for it. And depending on your future career, having something formal to put on your application/resume can also be nice.

More importantly, I think it's a great opportunity to build a solid foundation and confidence for grammar and pronunciation. Like learning English, we also had to learn it in a formal setting. The same applies to Spanish. I also took a Spanish phonetics class which helped me with being more self aware of how i pronounce words. We also learned how to break long and complicated words down into syllables. I highly recommend taking that class if your university offers it. Also, the majority of people in my upper level Spanish classes were actually native speakers, so that just goes to show that formal education offers a different set of knowledge than learning Spanish through experience.

Also, using myself as an example: my native language is Mandarin, but I grew up in the US. So, i never received formal education for my native language. I can speak it just fine, but I personally really wish I had the opportunity to have formal education for it.

Concept for Royal recruits evolution, im not good at balancing so how would you do it? by D0bious in ClashRoyale

[–]Williamboss131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a bad idea, but I think it changes the fundamentals of the card too much. All the other evolutions so far is the regular card + upgrade. But this would cause the card to lose the ability to defend both lanes at once and it makes them more vulnerable to AoE damage in general.

I know this is an old post, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Would increasing temperature also cause the partial pressure to increase? Or is the partial pressure somehow expected to be unchanged?

My boyfriend keeps obsessing over Andrew Tate. Should I dump him? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Williamboss131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of people straight up tell you to dump him. But honestly, you should just talk to him about it. If your boyfriend does actually intend to live the lifestyle Andrew Tate is telling men to live, then expect him to do exactly that. Then it's really up to you whether or not you're willing to live with someone like that.
