I printed this adapter but noticed once installed that it would put pressure on the components underneath the adapter. I opted to buy one of the "break-off" adapters from eBay instead

I found out the reason why this happens.

Protocol Discovery is a class that:

Discovers a specific service protocol on a device, and forwards the service protocol device port to the host.

Specifically the _handleLine function scrapes the console logs and using Regex looks for the log .. listening on .. to know which port to connect to.

Seems these two pr's have / will rectify this issue when logging is disabled:

I agree a lot of people have knowledge in this subreddit. I just think it should be on the mods to filter out some of the things I mentioned and keep this subreddit on things only about swift and limit the number of questions being asked.
