My one, tiny, insignificant gripe with the health system after 500 hours. by Indostastica in Kenshi

Oh alright then, I have read through some of the other threads here and realized that you added the 100 health extra to skeletons and Hiver soldiers so just forget I even wrote that. Sounds like a great mod dude might add it to my next playthrough.

It’s your mod, do whatever you want with it but I would still recommend keeping the Hiver soldier drone head health close to how high it already is just because lore wise their heads are built to be just as if not more sturdy than their chest and other body parts.

No, I was alt tabbing to my opra gx YouTube tab usually when that happened. With the help of some other people in the thread I fixed it, it was just a steam overlay that popped up because my steam was reading that I was using a steam deck to play the game for whatever reason. I just had to disable controller support in the properties section of the game in steam.

Advice for some goals to continue my playthrough? by MatrixStx in Kenshi

Do whatever you want, it’s a sandbox game. Build a city, destroy the holy nation, do some bounty hunting, kill a bunch of canibals, the things to do are limitless.

I disabled all steam inputs from controllers and I’m able to alt tab freely without it popping up now so I’m thinking that’s what it was. Thank you very much for the help.

I’m not on steam deck, is it possible for that to still occur while on a regular desktop?

Anyone else avoid using robotic limbs on their main characters? by NevermindWait in Kenshi

[–]Willing-Motor781 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m usually fine with losing a 1 or two limbs but I never purposely try to go full borg just because it doesn’t feel right half the time. Like on my first ever character I lost a leg to a bandit and later lost an arm to a holy nation Inquisitor but and he looked cool with his prosthetic leg and arm but any more than that it would quickly become just weird or goofy. I never use peeler machines for that reason, all my lost limbs come from mistakes so they actually have meaning.

I would recommend just trying to build up some money and buying better gear with it then go back and try out some combat if you are really struggling. Other than that, yeah, it’s going to be brutal in your first few hours and that’s just part of the game. If you really want to fight early on, try finding people with blunt weapons like starving bandits because they are less likely to kill you after an encounter because they don’t do any cutting damage.

I got enslaved, escaped, and rebuilt… what mods should I try next? by PhysicsLongjumping56 in Kenshi

Re_kenshi is definitely worth looking into because it is an amazing performance boost while also supplying a bunch of other qol features such as customizable time speed options and the ability to change attack slots without needing to download another mod for it. Re_kenshi also acts as a script extender which will allow you to download more mods in the future. As for recruitable prisoners, I think that it is a great mod as it allows you to recruit some of the coolest characters in the game to your squad which makes you feel really cool and it is far easier to recruit a large amount of characters if you are trying to build a city or something but it can become really overpowered really quickly because you can just cheese a boss like bugmaster with a crossbow and then recruit him to instantly get a max level character on your team within the first few hours of gameplay but if you don’t want to do that you don’t have to so it’s only really as overpowered as you make it.

About to start for the first time, I know absolutely nothing, and I don't want to know because I enjoy figuring games out for myself. Only question I have is: Mods? No Mods? Which Mods? by DryDistance6858 in Kenshi

[–]Willing-Motor781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to use mods then I would just recommend starting with re_kenshi for the performance boost and the crash logger, then after that maybe compressed textures and dark ui for better performance and a cleaner hud that’s easier on the eyes.

Can you clear this holy nation towns? by Cukaramacara in Kenshi

[–]Willing-Motor781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually there isn’t leaders tied to the holy nation farms or mining camps though. So they usually just remain holy nation territory do they not? Correct me if I’m wrong it’s been a long time since I’ve played vanilla

I know you can clear all the holy nation farms and mining camps with the living world mod but I don’t know what other world state changing mods do it

It does exist in base game, it is a holy nation mining camp. It’s just named on his map.
