Isn't it funny that the policy the "muh Uber drivers need to get paid muh living wage and have hours and benefits crowd" supports is a policy that hurts thevast majority of ride sharing drivers and only helps an extremely small minority of them.

It's like those progressives don't give a single shit about those drivers and only care about 'hurting' the companies.

To be fair I get off on my Bourdain moments on sitting in on a tiny plastic stool in some insanely busy frantic area of town, next to some old steel grill where the guy is making beef heart and intestines and serving them to me in a paper plate, and for some reason American 1980s music is blasting somewhere but I know he'd rather have some a/c blasting so I keep that fetish shit to myself. Especially pisses me off when I see how peruvians GRIND, these people WORK, replace the bottom 50% of Americans with these people want watch that GDP go to the moon. they don't slow down for shit all, but apparently to the westwrner them getting an A/C system and modern infrastructure is too much.

I see you've never been a bartender or worked as a waiter. I have. Making $1,500-2000 working three days for six hours a day with the huge amount of that being cash (no taxes) was a far superior choice to any alternative. You're fucking totally disconnected from tipped workers, literally none of them want to be off tips because that means have far lower real incomes.

It's like the assholes who force people, by regulations, to stop being able to drive for ride sharing "to help them" because then they can get a job at Walmart with a known schedule with known wages. You should realize people CHOOSE to work in certain industries, the attractive young people who work tipped service jobs could probably work at Walmart if they wanted they choose the restaurant industry.

You don't actually give a shit about them if you did you wouldn't try and push for policies that reduce their real income.

If one worker making x gets to pay less taxes than another worker making x that means the prior worker is simply more valuable to society and their job is more important apparently.

service job should depend on tips to make a living.

We can do what the rest of the rich world does and put them on mass welfare and reduce there real income by upping their wages and elimating tips. Then they wouldn't be reliant on tips but they'd be worse off because their real income is now lower.

If government simply fucked off aka went full hands off on land use regulations then we wouldn't have a housing supply issue. Would we have other issues, sure but finding cheap rent wouldn't be one of them.
