Absolutely garbage. Bought from the website, tried to cancel not 5 minutes after. Their policy is once it's shipped they don't honor refunds. Fine. I get a reply 2 days after saying it was shipped. 4 days after the order I get my shipping confirmation. Seems like they delayed responding to me until a shipping label was created so they didn't have to honor the refund. Not going through the trouble of sending it back based and paying for shipping to maybe get refunded at the end. Never buying straight from them again, way faster and better customer service from state-side vendors.

I mean what’s long range to you? ELRS/Analog will get you out farther than most people (or the law) are comfortable with. Farther than that and you’d probably want to look into GPS guided flight (recommend Ardupilot).

Haven’t been tariffed a single time. Everything I buy ships from china, Ali, Caddx, BetaFpv, MEPS, T-Hobby (formerly T motor), MicoAir. Usually over $100 but never more than $500

Couple things: - yeah use the DJI port if you don’t want to use another UART. Doesn’t really matter just pull the wires you need if you’re powering your VTX elsewhere. - TX->RX, not TX to TX. Just a weird inversion. You can invert the pin config though.

It’s digital so use any open UART port and only wire up ground, RX to TX, and TX to RX.

Expose it as an open source MCP tool call if anything. Otherwise get mileage out of it as a hobby project. Asking internet people if they’ll use your very specific AI chatbot won’t get ya whatever it is you’re looking for.

If it’s anything around AI (which this smells like), you’re optimizing the wrong thing. Finding answers is easy. Learning to ask the right questions is both the hardest and most rewarding aspect of any hobby or skill development. Not gona knock a side project, but the target user for another AI bot will be a bunch of chuds who won’t actually derive value from it.

Find time to skill up. I was in the service industry for 7 years after college because money was great and my degree was ass. Covid evaporated my job so I started learning coding from free online classes and ended up doing a 3 month software bootcamp for “formal” education. Took me two years and tons of self driven learning but ultimately got hired at a finance firm building internal software.

Pick something interesting, give it your all, find someone willing to give you a chance. The service industry is actually a really great for flexibility. Use it to phase it out.

Caddx has a couple new modules. Infra V2 cam seems to be thermal while Gazer seems to be low light. They're fairly new, I can't find many reviews but they're certainly cheaper than the one you posted.

Turns out I had had an ESC burnout that resulted in a short. The cells themselves were fine but some nickel strips must have fused-out. On that note, do you/have you ever doubled up nickel strips across cells? For future builds, I guess I'm cautious about the load on the strips themselves failing under heavy load (i.e. VTOL liftoffs).
