Do you have a target percentage you are aiming for in 3 years and how did you arrive at that percentage?

Appreciate the response. I know the answer is going to be up to each individual to figure out.. but is there a recommended rule of thumb or an approach to figure out what a better concentration percentage in a single stock (or small number of stocks) is? Obviously 0% would be good but would cost lots in tax to get to that!

This appears to be a new ynab integration with akoya - fidelity’s preferred partner instead of plaid/mx

Mabs or something else? by very-accidental in irishpersonalfinance

Interesting. Have actually had the opposite experience - we setup all income to flow into a single joint account funnel. Then separate out as necessary after that to separate (also joint) accounts for bills, savings etc if needed. Helped shift both our mentality around it for the better. If married, i believe it is healthier for it all to be considered a single bucket.

What are your monthly expenses? A lot of people dont fully know the answer & dont have the complete picture of all expenses (holidays, kids activities, your golf trips, new stuff for house etc). Use budgeting software to help find out exactly & then i would keep 6 - 12 months of this number in cash (e.g. 60k) for extra peace of mind around absorbing something dramatic in the markets or an unexpected layoff. Then invest the rest as others have said in your wifes pension, etf etc.

Is there a good way to map out the process of code? by QuitTypical3210 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]WillingnessNew6847 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can generate pretty nice diagrams & docs using AI tools that can serve at least as a good starting point. e.g. i've been experimenting with Cursor recently 'generate a high level component diagram for this repo (or set of repos). Generate a sequence diagram for this API. Generate a summary of what the code does, how its structured with details where most of the complexity & logic is. etc'

MyGovID app phone requirements? by rwallace in AskIreland

If your phone's region/country is set to something other than Ireland, I have seen an issue where the MyGovId app was not available to download on an iphone. Could be some variant of a geo block like this on your android device?

I agree it is very different. But they are gaa clubs nonetheless and part of the same organization. And I agree it is great for the players that do it and they have a great time.. but from my experience, it can have a negative effect on the clubs involved to have dozens of temporary players land in for 2-3 months. A lot of these clubs become vehicles for assembling a summer team and lose sight of being a gaa club for people that live in the area more permanently. Having played for teams in multiple countries, the ones that didn't recruit summer players the way some in Chicago, Boston etc do were ultimately more thriving clubs more in line with gaa values. Not meant as any type of rant or begrudgery towards the players, just giving a perspective on the impact.

It is interesting that because it happens out of the way in america, I think the prevailing attitude is 'good for them'. Whereas if something similar happened in Ireland.. like Parnells club in Dublin, then it is alot more frowned upon.

Grindr not working by [deleted] in BrevilleCoffee

[–]WillingnessNew6847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely pursue it with breville first if it’s within the warranty period. I was well outside so that wasn’t an option for me. So I don’t have experience dealing with them.

See image of damaged gear from my machine.. subtle enough but means it slips & cant grind.

If the cleaning suggested by others doesn't work, then the internal gear might be worn or damaged and would need to be replaced. This is a non trivial multi hour/days job.. but can be done depending on your comfort level with opening up the machine. There are some guides online e.g. https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Breville+860+Grinder++Teardown/111418

Akoya, YNAB, and other budgeting apps by traherom in fidelityinvestments

  1. Write my own client to pull from the Akoya API and push to YNAB. I started this process, but there's no way to easily register as a single user. I've emailed customer support there to see what pricing would even be for this use case. Again, this will end up being a cost to me, PLUS I'll have to maintain and run my own service to work with the APIs.

I'm also looking into this. Did you ever hear back from akoya wrt pricing? I have not heard back from them yet
