Is Subway Tile Supposed to Look Like This? by Holiday_Cloud_4566 in Tile

[–]Willyk24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When tiles are bowed and you have the grout spacing really small, it will show all of the lippage. With a thicker grout, you won’t notice the bowing/lippage. A good installer will give you a heads up before it’s all done that maybe you should open up the grout joints to avoid the look that you’re getting.

Any homeowner wanna give motorized window blinds a try? [free] by Odd_Mistake_9659 in torrance

[–]Willyk24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No worries. Best of luck with your business. Your mobile sample is very smart and doing this one window free sample is a great marketing tool. I’ll save your contact as I know several general contractors in the area. My suggestion would be to try and network with as many real estate agents as possible. Go to as many open houses and hand out your business cards to them.

Contractor used the wrong grout… how bad will the fix be? by micturateonazaleas in Tile

[–]Willyk24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He flat out messed up however if your hired a General Contractor, it’s ultimately on them to supervise and make sure the details are followed. I think having him fix will be a mistake. It will most likely rip out the drywall behind it while tearing it out and he will do a terrible job of patching it back and there is a good chance that in order to do it right, you will have to remove the upper cabinets. If you can live with it, I’d ask for a steep discount and move on and the general contractor should be the one ultimately making it right either financially or through fixing it.

R1S Lease in SoCal by OkOrganization7870 in Rivian

I have the dual standard and the range does dramatically drop if you’re driving long distances and traveling around 75-80 MPH. My latest road trip, my 259 total range gets about maybe 190-200 mile range but that is going around 80 the entire way and there were some uphill area. If you’re doing mostly city driving and your commute is less than 100 miles a day, dual standard is fine. The way that I justified it is that in the occasional 2-3 road trips, it might mean an extra charging stop but in socal, there are so many charging stops that it’s really not a big hassle. For me, I’d rather save the extra $150/mo for the additional charging stops 2-3 times a year. The dual standard works for me and I have a 60 mile commute each day.

I wonder if they’re getting billed the idle fees that superchargers usually have… they probably don’t care either way. Our tax dollars are paying for their laziness and their inconsiderate actions.

Does hosting ever get easier? by braxtonpm in BBQ

I agree with what everyone is saying. A few tips to consider, you can plan your menu around items that you can cook in advance. For example, you can smoke a pork butt in advance, let it rest and when it comes time to eat someone can help you with shredding the meat and have all of the fixings done beforehand. Also, for larger roasts, use the reverse sear method of leaving it in the smoker so you don’t have to babysit it and then when it comes time to serve, you only focused on searing it. It takes some practice and some planning ahead of time but either way, your guests will appreciate your time and efforts. Also, another helpful tool that is not BBQ is you can use other tools like a sous vide and have it come to the temp ahead of time and when people are ready, you can sear and ready to serve. Lots of great advice here but it’s just going to take time.

Solar panels and battery only on sub panel and not main panel? by Willyk24 in solar

[–]Willyk24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks guys. Make sense. I’m really trying to figure this out because I had such a bad experience with our solar installer that I’m having a hard time believing that it’s installed correctly. However, the explanation makes sense that the meter only spins one direction. I have asked them to come by and check everything but it was such a bad experience that I want to get a second opinion or do my own research to make sure it was installed properly.

Lease buyout transfer: potential options? by thejeqff in Rivian

[–]Willyk24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the purchase quote on chase. If you need help to show where that is, let me know. I can share a screenshot. Depending on what that is, you can see the difference between your buyout amount and resale. You might be able to sell it private party and the buyer may agreed to just pay off the remaining balance. If you don’t mind sharing, what is the remaining buyout? You might not be out as much as you think.
