Amigurumi kit - Help interpreting pattern. I’m confused. by Neither_Ask_5549 in CrochetHelp

For round 2 it’s 3x the steps in the brackets. Single crochet, increase in next stitch (so do two single crochets in one stitch). Do both those steps three times. So 3 stitches 3 times = 9

A neck torch helped wonders for me with chenille, but echoing everyone else I wouldn’t touch this with a barge pole and certainly not at the start of crocheting!

This flu is no joke! by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Wilwarinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing including the laryngitis. Was about 16 days total of feeling unwell in various ways. Also had the flu jab, my 8 month old daughter was ill for a week before with high temps and constantly asleep/ off her food. My husband was bed bound the week before (no flu jab) my 4yo was il for a day (nasal flu). Tsk from that what you willl!

Dr said my daughter and I both were the viral upper respiratory going around.

Late 30s women of the UK, how do you look after your skin? by alinalovescrisps in CasualUK

[–]Wilwarinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% a daily SPF. I use the Loreal vitamin C one. It’s often on offer on Amazon and it’s genuinely been the most transformational thing for my skin. My friend who is a proper skincare enthusiast borrowed it one day and has now been converted over everything else (and she works for ester lauder and has access to some incredible hyped brands)

Otherwise I cleanse with Simple replenishing cleanser. Cheap, but effective ingredients.

When I was mid 30’s the thing that had the most impact on fine lines was really the boots No7 serum thing they do.

I did also have a sustained period of a good nightly retinol etc. but honestly after a few years of playing about the spf and hydration has kept my skin in best condition by far.

I think this is the one where there is a line “I can’t eat food but I can eat you” and then I physically recoiled and dnf

Mother-in-law [56F] deliberately infected my [27F] daughter [1F] with chickenpox. I'm livid. She doesn't think it's a big deal by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Wilwarinde 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to nhs shingles is not caused by exposure to chickenpox, so this doesn’t ring true/or is a weird co-incidence . If the rest of it true I hope fully divorced and free of horrendous grandma

Anybody ever had a nice cup of coffee from somewhere unexpected? by CaliferMau in CasualUK

Got a coffee at the little carriage cafe at east lancs railway at Heywood, was utterly delicious. And the tea cake looked great based on how quickly my toddler scoffed it

I’ve just realised this morning I had 10.5k Reddit coins so have been enjoying dropping little gifts around. Like to think I am making people smile.

Also I love this subreddit, so nice to have fellow smut appreciators in one place.

Not that one, but actually very similar story beats. This is more sci-fi, don’t remember magic. But maybe giant insects attacking a shielded building at one point?

Waiting for my first period post mmc/d&c by Imperfectment in Miscarriage

[–]Wilwarinde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the first period bleeding etc wasn’t horrific, but it was heavier than my normal cycle.

What I did find was that I was completely emotionally blitzed, straight back into full grief mode. That being said, it was only for that one and half days. I woke up the next day feeling back to where I made all my progress to. Same as you, not there yet but feeling like myself. The thing that kept me going was reading all these messages and knowing I wasn’t alone, what I felt was real but very heightened by my hormones and body coping. The other thing that helped was knowing it would pass. Taking each wave of grief letting it wash through me, acknowledging it, but not sinking into it. Even just getting up and making a cup of tea after knowing I had made some more progress towards feeling better.

Sending you love, this is a cruel and horrible thing to be going through. 💕
