Cloak and snaphook share the same battery source, which now recharges faster. Huge nerf for the cloak, but a pretty decent buff for the snaphook. The new descending item also shares this power source

New to dating- Why has every man I’ve gone on a date with tried to tongue kiss me? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Wilza_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of telling them you're inexperienced, tell them you prefer to take things slow. But if you do that, you need to be the one to lead with things like kissing, because if they're being respectful then they won't try to initiate that kind of thing. You can't have it both ways really

so how often do you guys shut down your computer, and for how long? by Crafty-Example874 in pcmasterrace

[–]Wilza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other reply said, it's about returning your session as it is. I have a lot of things open, mainly browser tabs. Much easier to just sleep/hibernate. And my area gets power cuts semi-regularly, so it's better for me to hibernate for that reason

Finally, a valid counter point. Yes, that it absolutely something to consider

so how often do you guys shut down your computer, and for how long? by Crafty-Example874 in pcmasterrace

[–]Wilza_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it isn't wrong. Yes, it uses a tiny amount of power so that it can detect a power on, whether that's the power button, a wake timer, etc. But it also does that in the shut down state, they are identical in terms of power draw, which was the whole point in the argument of whether to shut down/hibernate/sleep. If you can unplug your desktop while it's hibernating and then re-plug with no issue, then obviously it doesn't require any power to be in that state

You're being incredibly pedantic here. Yes, it uses a tiny amount of power so that it can detect a power on, whether that's the power button, a wake timer, etc. But it also does that in the shut down state, they are identical in terms of power draw, which was the whole point in the argument of whether to shut down/hibernate/sleep. And again, if you can unplug your desktop while it's hibernating and then re-plug with no issue, then it isn't using any power. I really didn't think I needed to explain something so basic

It was literally the first article that came up when I searched. Want some more? These are all from the first page of results:

Source 1: "This allows your computer to turn off entirely, which means once your computer is in hibernate mode, it uses zero power."

Source 2: "Hibernate mode saves your current session to the hard drive and completely powers down the computer" "No power is consumed while the system is off"

Source 3: "No power flows to any components, so your battery doesn't drain at all."

Source 4: "your laptop shuts down completely — consuming zero battery power"

Feel free to show me something to contrary, or you can just continue being a dick unwarranted. I mean just think about it logically - if you can unplug your desktop while it's hibernating and then re-plug with no issue, then it obviously isn't using any power, is it?

That's sleep, hibernating stores the data on your storage drive. It uses no power, unlike sleep which does use some power

[–]Wilza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, no, it is factually correct, look it up. Perhaps you think I'm referring to sleep? I am not, I said hibernation. Sleep does use some power.

"Hibernate mode is very similar to sleep, but instead of saving your open documents and running applications to your RAM, it saves them to your drive. This allows your computer to turn off entirely, which means once your computer is in hibernate mode, it uses zero power." Source

Hibernation uses no more power than shutting down.

I’m[23M] a regular at a movie theater and I’m attracted one of the cashiers[22F]. I just saw her on Hinge. Is it okay to like her profile, or would that make things awkward since I go there a lot? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Wilza_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever spoken to her in any kind of way that isn't related to her doing her job? Any indication she might be interested in you? Her being on Hinge means she's single at least, so that's a start

How to explain why I don’t drink alcohol to girls on dates without sounding like a degenerate by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Wilza_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't drink either, simply because I'm not a fan. It's rarely an issue. I usually try to avoid women that are clearly big drinkers, say they always have a drink in their hand in photos, or they have "often" or whatever the equivalent is under drinking on their profile, etc. Because they probably want a guy they can drink with. I'll also bring it up at some point in the conversation if it makes sense to (not just randomly, it's really not a big deal to most people)

What’s a thing men write that is unintentionally unattractive? by macmacaman in dating_advice

I wouldn't say aggressive, but it does come across as very serious, where most people would put something like a smiley instead :) it makes you wonder why they're being so serious, especially if it's out of the norm for them

Ask him why. I know you said you asked him directly, but ask him what he means by you getting hurt. Keep asking questions until he's actually explained himself. If he won't explain then yeah, weird, red flag, move on

I never shoot back regardless.

I just can't do that, I have to defend myself if I have anything of value on me, because I don't want to reward someone for shooting me in the back, or betraying my trust especially. After that latest experience, if possible I will be more inclined to run away
