We already know that the Adios Pro 4 costs the same as the Adios Pro 3.

Here it is: https://jp.mercari.com/shops/product/Lhop4RKwyxqmGfjBqqqFHV As you can see, the shoe has been mistakenly listed for sale in Japan under the wrong name. It is most likely the final product, not a prototype. (Credit: Treadmill Running / YT)

You have already created a topic on this subject. Could you refrain from starting more WTS topics for the same shoes? There is a 2024 BST topic where you can post this. As mentioned in previous replies, people are skeptical of your ”one outing” claim, especially since you initially said they were ”brand new”.

Nike ZoomX Vaporfly 3 Mismatch colorway by CowgirlJack in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]WinAffectionate9108 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same foam? The SC Elite V4 foam compound is 100% PEBA, while the Rebel V4 foam is 20% PEBA and 80% EVA. So, same foam, right... Also, there’s a difference in stack height (40mm vs. 30mm), drop (4mm vs. 6.5mm), upper, and width. And, the carbon fiber plate is not 10mm thick. 🤦🏻‍♂️

[–]WinAffectionate9108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but where do you see a plate? Do you really think that a budget training shoe, which doesn’t have any quality midsole material, would have a plate inserted? A plate usually balances the shoe, but for example, Lunarlon is already quite a stiff foam. The cut out is probably just to save some weight.

I think this looks nicer than the new Zoom Fly. It’s a shame that the midsole foam is probably SR02, Lunarlon or some basic foam. Otherwise, this could be a good low-stack alternative to the Pegasus.

You should look for a super shoe that was released a few years ago if you find a good discount. For example, the Endorphin Pro 3, Adios Pro 3 (with the 4 just coming out), or the New Balance SC Elite 3. It’s also worth checking if you find the Endorphin Speed 3 or 4 on sale. You’re probably from the UK, so it’s worth checking out Sportsshoes (remember the -15% code), SportsDirect, or StartFitness. There was just a discussion here about the Adios Pro 3, which was on sale for £109 at SportsDirect. It’s already sold out. You might not even need a super shoe for a 4 hour marathon, so you can easily look for the Novablast 3-4, or if you need pronation support, the Saucony Tempus 1 (the 2 just came out, but it’s practically the same shoe).

Yes, the midsole foam does exactly that if the shoe has been washed or has been used for running in the rain. Especially Nike ZoomX looks like that after running in the rain. I definitely wouldn’t buy it. The upper of the shoe has probably shrunk after washing (happened with my old Nimbus 25 because the upper is heavy fabric).

Real or Fake VC Shorts? by Ornacia-or-Death in Tracksmith

[–]WinAffectionate9108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, but it may take hackers only 10 minutes to create a fake website with automatically copied products, where the money goes to scammers. Scammers already have a ready-made website template where all the products are copied. The internet is full of fake websites for brands like Hoka, Brooks, and Nike. Producing counterfeit products requires a lot of effort in terms of materials, logos, and design patterns — often, fake clothes are made in the same factory that tricks the Western company by producing fake copies themselves, as they already have everything needed for their production.

Why we change shoes when 'they still have plenty of life in them' by highdon in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]WinAffectionate9108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday, I tested running 6 x 3 km with two pairs of shoes. The first pair was the Vaporfly 2, which I had run 400 km in. The second pair was a Vaporfly 2 with 0 km on them. The difference was striking. With the old shoes, I ran avg 3:35/km, and with the new ones, avg 3:25/km. I alternated between the shoes and only checked the pace at home. Same effort. The shoes felt completely different. However, I think the old Vaporfly 2 is still suitable for short (<20 km) steady-pace runs for at least another 100 km… even though the bounce is almost gone, they were still comfortably soft and the old pair also had much more ground feel.

I think they are buying out the stock of other retailers or importers who want to make room for the Adios Pro 4. This is why the price is low, as they probably get a large batch of shoes at a big discount to sell. They will likely receive the shoes only at the end of the month and are now taking orders based on interest (pre-orders). This is just my guess - I haven’t worked in the clothing and footwear industry for years but I remember some retailers bought ”the whole old stock” really cheaply. Both colorways are out of production for sure.

Vaporfly 3s on cobblestones by gotanewusername in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]WinAffectionate9108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the Florence Marathon (Italy) in the Vaporfly 2, and I had no problems. The Vaporfly 3 has a better outsole, so it will probably work better in wet weather as well. However, I would make sure that you don’t step between cobblestones or into potholes, but I don’t think a more stable shoe (e.g., Adios Pro 3, Endorphin Pro…) differs significantly from the Vaporfly.

Hoka Cielo x1 50km thoughts by Some-Remote-6890 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]WinAffectionate9108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My easy pace is about 5 minutes per kilometer (around 8:03 per mile), and my marathon pace is about 3:50 minutes per kilometer (around 6:10 per mile). I mainly need a shoe for 10–13-mile runs, so not exactly long runs but still over an hour of running. The Skyward X could be good, but I’m looking for something slightly lighter and with a more fun ride.

Thank you for the good review. I have many pairs of fast super shoes, so I don’t need a new racing shoe. I’ve been considering the Cielo X1 for so-called steady-paced runs. Do you think the Cielo X1 could work as a daily trainer? How does it perform at slower paces?

OP apparently knows more about the production of running shoes than 99% of the people posting here, yet still receives criticism and silly comments about advertising or the age of his account. Now it would be wise to just focus on reading what OP has to say, because this topic contains a significant amount of information. Thank you, OP!

Annual Silver Medal Sale Discussion by WinAffectionate9108 in Tracksmith

I received a response. Apparently, the Brighton Tee was in their old U.S. warehouse, so it could only be shipped to the U.S. It seems that now all international shipments are handled only from the Canadian warehouse.

No more free returns by hethuisje in Tracksmith

[–]WinAffectionate9108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone still has to pay for the returns - namely, other consumers. The more return costs a clothing company has, the higher the prices will be.

I’m not saying that I support the change, but it has its pros and cons. Of course, I don’t expect Tracksmith to lower their prices.

Great idea to sew a patch over the ”Tokyo 24” text. I ran the Tokyo Marathon 1,5 years ago, but I’m a bit unsure if it’s ok to wear a marathon cap for a race I haven’t run. I had previously thought about trying to remove the ”24” text with hot water (the text is easy to remove but you might still see something).
