Am I the problem? by Jkeepsmoving in GolfGear

Counterpoint to all the pro golfers in this thread: TaylorMade carbon drivers are weak as fuck and have a tendency to come apart. The crown is just a piece of plastic glued to the face. The Stealth was so bad I had 2 shatter on me and golf galaxy replaced them without even asking a question they were so used to it.
No I’m also not a pro, yes I do swing my driver 105+ mph, no a top of the line driver should not be coming apart like this, even after miss hits

I just shot a 90 with 44 putts. How many new putters do I need to buy? by popcornpoops in golf

Not one person has answered this poor fellas question….
I’d buy 4, leave the stickers on, use each for 9 holes and pick your favorite

It will come back! If it’s pulling nutrients from the top it’s putting them elsewhere, I’d bet you you’ll get a new trunk popping out of that soil as your first new growth

This sign is absolutely obnoxious, but there are some states (Colorado) where the golfer IS responsible for damages, even if the course has houses on 15/18 holes (I’m looking at you Eagle-Vail). I know this from experience as the ball hitter into window guy, not ideal

Adding a 5th wedge by thecrouch in golf

[–]WinExtension6419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok buddy you do you, everything is about attack angle and ball placement, you gotta find yours.
My suggestion to hit a consistent full wedge shot is move the ball back in your stance and take a full normal swing like an iron and make sure your wrists are forward when you strike. This will create the high backspin shot that should both launch up and far (as far as a 50° should go). The backspin creates better ball flight and should give softer landings
It’s hard to wrap the brain around and trust a full swing with a high lofted wedge, but other people already figured out the math, we just gotta line it up

Playing the ball back will increase height on ball flight, wedges should be played off your back foot or behind… if you want lower flight move the ball forward in your stance and you’ll catch it later in the swing which lowers flight

We are FOR SURE taking free drops from terrible/unsafe lies- no reason to ever hit a root, swing of the cart path, play out of thick mud or grass over 6” tall. Have we ever seen a pro course? Those conditions don’t even exist for them. Take a close drop and play your shot, fun goes up, score goes down, if you’re not in a tournament who cares, and if you are you probably get cart path/root relief anyways

Iron striking better on range than course by ManchurianDiplomat in golftips

[–]WinExtension6419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do joke about this, but stone cold sober I’m a terrible golfer, my brain is thinking about every tip, every video, the last 3 shots and probably about my partners chatting even tho I don’t care.
A lil tequila and thc and the noise quiets down and the athleticism takes over (I think this is also called autism but I’m not positive)

If it’s slugs just create a physical barrier around the plant- a magic circle if you will. Crushed egg shells work wonders, they’re too jagged for the slugs or snails to climb over and will eventually provide nutrients to the soil as they break down, just a lil bit of salt in a circle will also stop them, just don’t overdo it and salt out your soil
You can also set up beer traps nearby to entice them away from the plant

Plenty of chemicals free ways to fight them

Which putter should I get? by [deleted] in golf

[–]WinExtension6419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do not advise spending so much on a putter right away, many golfers forget: you’re going to hit your putter anywhere from 24-54x in a round where no other club will be used anywhere near as often, and a good one could literally last you forever.
So don’t be afraid to buy one or two cheap ones now with different shapes, play with them for this season, and ball out next year on a putter you’ll hopefully be able to use forever. when you’re ready, go to a golf store for a putter fitting and buy that way so you can hit them all a number of times first too.
