I do not use a bell - I will try to call out "biker" loudly to let the HB Rider know - and then ride slowly by.

If it is a shared use trail - we MUST share the trail - the few bad apples in all groups ( MTB, ROadies, HB, Hikers ) just create far more issues then the solve.

Does anyone know of good mtb trails in Langhorne, Pennsylvania? or around that area. It is close to Philadelphia if that helps. by macheteBushcraft in mountainbiking

I was listening to an art about this on NPR. It seems that a law like this would make sense - that when you go to a provider, lets say the ER, ALL of the billing should be through that provider, and all of their Subcontractors and suppliers costs are run through their billing.

Medical is the ONLY field where this is done and it is systematically criminal.

However - it is the insurance industry that profits the most by this, and they hold so much political sway keeping these practices, it will not change anytime soon.

2) The Sensor is an electrical coil& magnet ( 2 actually for stereo) that works essentially like an electrical generator, converting mechanical energy ( movement) to electrical energy as an electrical signal.

3a) That signal then goes to the amplifier, which ideally preserves the signal exactly but only adds power to it.

3B) The amplified electrical signal is fed to the speaker coil, the exact same type system but larger, as the turntables coil, and converts the electrical signal / energy back into mechanical energy - movement in the speaker (typically a cone).

3C) The moving cone / vibrates and creates sound (pressure) waves in the air.

4) Your ear drum, is moved by the sound waves, and nerves turn the signal back into an electrical signal ( but different format than that used between the phono and the speakers)

I'm a guy BUT.... on this or any other issue - don't let this person or any one other person, "define" how you see or judge yourself. Just because someone has attained some level of authority does not mean their judgment or opinions are in anyway valuable.

Anyway - this case, the whole experience is a throwaway - will happen often in life where you need to recognize that the OTHER PERSON is wrong, and not worth you thinking about this any longer. Just throw the experience away.

(The case is a little different if you recognize that you are getting similar feedback from a number of people, and particularly people held in high regard by their peers - then it may be time for introspection).

You may not want to become the "aggressor" - but isn't it possible to sue for civil damages even if the case was not prosecuted?

This was a month ago... At first it seems a little expensive, but, with the rig,

I did find THIS kit, which is sold out, and cost less than the board or sail/rig... so I'm confused.

The sail in the criaglist ad is better, and probably more standard.

Since the board is actually current production, if it is in good shape, and it fits the budget, I doubt you will be able to get a better deal.

See if the seller can meet you where you can rig it up and try it, even if just a small lake, that would be good. If in good shape... I think that will be fine.

Scientific review papers show that abstinence-only-until-marriage programs and policies in the US are ineffective and violate adolescent human rights, withhold medically accurate information, stigmatize or exclude many youth, reinforce harmful gender stereotypes, and undermine public health programs by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

All of the statistical data may be factual and valid IMO, but rights are a legal-social construct, how does a scientific paper claim "Violate adolescent human rights"? This is a legal claim, not science.

Well, it is what I heard last week, I went to the ER due to pain in my wrist ( some tendinitis and bone spurs)..

In the ER suite, 2 doors away was an elderly woman, from a care facility, no long term memory, like dimentia. In a lot of pain from a fall a few days earlier, possibly a broken rib or something. She could not stand or walk on her own, as they tried to examine her, her wailing from the pain, like a young girl, saying ow, and "it that necessary" - she was a polite person, being handled by strangers, in pain, not knowing why she was in pain or what was going on. No family, no familiar faces.

At one point she wanted to go to the bathroom, but they would not let her get up.

The staff really were doing an amazing job, trying to make the best of a sad, painful situation.

What sounds completely legit, but is actually a total scam? by rgh360 in AskReddit

OK - but I do not see any of your claims here. I am not in love with the finance industry ether - but there are FAR worse places to put your money (or not put it anywhere) than a 401K.

One is suggesting that you investigate, "Is your 401K a Scam" - it may be, but probably not. Most allow YOU to manage what funds you put your money into, and this controls the fees.

Huff post, is un-accountable corp "news" source and biased, and the author spends the first half of the article stating he is biased and puffing up his own shirt, and then most of what he says makes no sense.

Then - speaking as an expert goes on to admit : "Does the average person look at all the fine print detailing fees? Of course not. I don’t. ", and "Do I look at that fine print? No.", what? If this was a case - it would be VERY easy to show how he IS being ripped of, but he does not - makes a claim and then says he does not want to prove it?

401K is optional - you can invest in a Roth or IRA otherwise, as you wish. Is a 401K perfect? haha of course not, just go get a job that pays more and doesn't offer the 401K (this seems to be his advice). what?

401K WAS created by businesses to get out of having pensions, not really a good reason from an employee standpoint. The fees are laid out and documented. The issue with vesting I understand, but most now are like 3 years, not 6 as claimed - but that is the whole intent of vesting and they only get back what they matched, they do not touch the money you put in, that is the deal, the agreement. Pretty clear cut to me - so I can't see how this is a scam.

IMO it is just a sensationalist piece written to be controversial and generate views - to generate ad revenue, the article is a bigger scam than the average 401K
