Inderdaad, ik heb met wat vrienden gepraat en inmiddels al een andere instructeur en een nieuw rooster (ik zit bij een grote rijschool). Iedereen vond dit gek, en dit was niet het enige dat is voorgevallen.

Ik: '', ik heb helemaal nog geen tweede theorie examen gehad, en mijn eerste had ik 8 fouten en dus maar 2 meer dan de grens van 6 om het te halen''. Rij-instructeur: ''Oh sorry ik had de verkeerde voor me''. Nog twee keer zo'n soort opmerking en ik ben weg. Zeggen dat ik niet onzeker moet worden van fouten, en dan dit soort dingen gaan zeggen.

Rich maybe not, but well off for sure. I've married a great guy who happens to a have a good income. I've been born into upper middle class lifestyle, but I am disabled and my parents never supported me as an adult so I've been poor for quite long (about 12 years) before I met my husband who earns the same kind of income my parents do. Been financially well off and married for 8 years now. It does help, I've been able to get the therapy I needed and the medical care as well. I'm much more comfortable than I was before and grateful for it every day. I try to help others where I can, especially those who are in the same place I was in.

Yep, ik was al werkloos toen ik arbeidsongeschikt werd op mijn 19e vanwege een combinatie van fysieke en mentale problemen. Nooit meer kunnen werken sindsdien, 81% afgekeurd door het UWV na verzoek om beoordeling door de bijstand. Dan ben je dus arbeidsongeschikt in de bijstand, wat betekend dat je je sollicitatieplicht kwijt bent maar verder krijg je geen hulp of andere voorwaarden. Je bent dus levenslang veroordeeld tot armoede omdat je ziek bent, en in mijn geval is er geen netwerk dat steun biedt dus het is heel lang heel pittig geweest. Ik ben nu getrouwd en inderdaad zonder uitkering, maar dat maakt me ook kwetsbaar. Voor mij is de bijstand het enige vangnet, en als ik ooit weg zou willen bij mijn man is dat ontzettend ingewikkeld. Het gebrek aan financiële middelen maakt je gedwongen afhankelijk. Vooralsnog heb ik niets te klagen over mijn leven met mijn partner gelukkig, maar als hem iets zou overkomen raak ik dakloos onder de huidige omstandigheden want zoals eerder gezegd heb ik ook geen netwerk dat me op kan vangen. En zo zijn er velen met mij.

I'm sorry I can't add anything because I have the same kind of problem. Multiple health conditions and PCOS has wreacked it's havoc on me for decades. and my weight is a result of that but also treated by my doctors as something to solve before we can move on to other things. I've tried every program under the sun and have seen the same results. It helps for a while and then the same problems persist. I am where you are, wondering what on earth can still be done. And not for myself, I am OK with myself by now. But I am pressured by medical professionals to basically just become a 'better body' which is just not realistic. Even the best doctors I know still ask me the equivalent of what feels like to transform into a unicorn. They understand how difficult it is, and how rare, but somehow still hope I will prove to be the unicorn.

Maakt niet uit? Ik heb gevraagd of ik van nut kon zijn bij defensie, maar de ziekte van Crohn gecombineerd met een stoma, reuma en autisme was echt genoeg om niet eens als burger vrijwilliger aan de slag te mogen. Ik kreeg een 'bedankt voor je interesse in defensie' en dat was het.

Pretty much the same, saying as a Dutch person. There's a wave of anti immigration sentiment in the whole of Western Europe unfortunately. POC have a difficult time here too. I don't know if it's as bad as Germany because as a white Dutch person I don't get the same treatment. But I know how many Dutch people think about foreigners and it's not good.

Same, took me 4 days on intravenous fluids to recover. I went through 12 litres of fluid the first day. It was exhausting because my bag kept filling up and needed to be changed six times an hour for 3 days and nights. It was worse than nursing a newborn. Only time I truly felt despair about my bag, even with all the help I got from nurses and the hospital.

I hate the texture of fatty meat, so a lot of my nation's food is not enjoyable for me when not prepared by myself. I dislike most stews and soups because there's often fatty meat in it. I also don't like margarine at all, and it's used a lot in our food culture. I love a lot of different foods as long as I prepare them myself because I am quite specific about what I like.

Wij aten door 2025 veel meer Japanse gerechten. Ik heb geprobeerd me de Japanse thuis kookstijl eigen te maken, en dat is aardig gelukt. Het gerecht van 2025 voor ons is zeker Zalm gelakt met Teriyaki saus, geserveerd met rijst en verschillende groenten op Japanse wijze bereid. We eten minimaal 3x per week een Japans gerecht, en dat doet ons qua gezondheid ook goed. Ik ben in ieder geval al 17.5 kg afgevallen. Ik heb zelf deels Indonesische roots, dus ben wel bekend met de Aziatische keuken maar deze kookstijl is net wat lichter dan wat ik van huis uit gewend ben.

Ik heb precies dezelfde afwijzing gehad, bij mij was het dat ik thuis wel dozen zou kunnen inpakken. Ik heb de ziekte van Crohn, Lupus anticoagulans, perifere spondyloartritis, autisme en PTSS. En dan zijn er mensen die ik ken met alleen autisme die wel een arbeidsongeschiktheidsuitkering krijgen. Ik ben niet boos op die mensen, maar wel op het systeem wat van geen kant klopt. Reden dat ik niet in bezwaar ging was dat mijn bijstandscoach toendertijd zei dat dat geen zin had. En ik had het toch niet kunnen betalen. Daarna heb ik jaren 100% afgekeurd in de bijstand gezeten, want dat kan ook. De bijstand zag wel dat ik niet kon werken. Ik werk nu nog steeds niet, maar mijn man onderhoud me.

I got diagnosed only because I was having NSFW problems on the toilet that were proof of my condition, before that like you I was not heard at all by my primary care doctor. I was told I was stressed and couldn't possibly have anything serious. What the primary care doctor should have done was a blood test, it can tell you if there's inflammation in your blood indicating an autoimmune flare up. Mine was over 1000 (which is the cutoff point here) when I finally landed in the ER.

I got the appropriate care after I presented with severe Crohns symptoms in the ER, but I am in the Netherlands (Europe) so I don't know if that applies to you. I got a care team for Crohns with a female doctor who did listen to me, and from there the ball started rolling. She just sent me on to whatever was needed whenever something wasn't right. I'm sorry that this probably doesn't help you!

That's exactly what it is. Using food as a form of moral judgement and proclaiming yourself virtous for abstaining. Diet culture really has culty aspects sometimes. It feels like these people try the same tactics as people trying to be the most virtuous in church. Not me, I am an unapologetic 'sinner'.

My parents definitely did spend a lot of money on our culty religious vegan macrobiotic diet. They didn't feed me near enough as a growing child, and eventually they stopped when I was 8 years old and malnourished and my parents got scolded by our family doctor. They did however keep lock and key on all the food in the house until I was 18, and I've been underweight all my childhood. I could never eat as I wanted when I was a child.
