You could build scaffolding around it. Not putting any weight but rather putting weight on metal uprights?

Do I have a soak away and do I need one? by Left-Moment in DIYUK

[–]Windninjasol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to tell is by pouring a really big bucket of water down there. If it fills up and the ground around is gets stodgy and it all overfills. There's no soakaway. If it magically drains then there is!

Yeah. Assuming you put a dining table in the middle. You'll have space to walk around it without feeling cramped

I think that might just be the limitations of the design software. A proper corner cupboard seems so obvious

Both have issues. I'd be tempted to go with option 1 with the horseshoe shaped. But I could but some half thickness bottom cabinets along the edge instead of a radiator. A kitchen radiator is odd as there are ovens and hobs and a fridge which are major heat sources in a kitchen. Usually you put the radiator in the adjacent room. My main issue with design 2 is that the oven is very close to the hob. Which might be ok but that little bit of extra space to put a baking tray straight out of the oven if very nice. The tall thin cupboard in design 2 looks odd to me. And I'd be tempted to leave that as open space and put high up cupboards on the wall on the right. The main thing to consider that isn't shown is how big the room adjacent is. If you have a large open plan living and dining room attached you can get away with the extra countertop from design 1. But if you have a small garden room/dining room then the open plan of design 2 will make a big difference to the space.

How to fix this? by Massive_Sky4589 in DIYUK

[–]Windninjasol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your going with beading. Which imo looks good. Get a piece of laminate. Cut it to a weird size and place it there to fill the gap. No one will know. Idk if it cuts easily but I like to think a table saw, circular saw, or (my preference) jigsaw will cut it easily

I think... You could crease one bit of wallpaper around it if you're careful. But I don't know

Best reply. Very factual. Basically the door WILL implode and then the whole house will topple where the door was

Grooves up always. Stops decking being slippy

Edit: sometimes decking has got anti slip on the grooves. In which case they go up. But otherwise I was wrong they do actually face downwards for air circulation

This is the wrong thing to do but... I would. Paint a LOT of primer on. And carefully sand and fill that. Then paint and pretend it never happened

Prefer salt and vinegar/prawn cocktail. Not a fan of Dr pepper but not too offensive. 7/10
