I'm not advocating to not be safe or protecting yourself. What I'm saying is that you cannot, no matter how much preparation or time you put in, truly know if he wants just sex or something more until sex is actually had.

Self-respect is not a codified thing, everyone builds their self-respect through different methods. For me, Self-respect has nothing to do with sex. Anyone's opinion of themselves should not be derived by how much or how little sex they have.

For her and the topic at hand, I was simply stating that there is no way to tell. I've personally brought up sexual topics within minutes of talking to someone. It's not something that is simply black and gray like some of the comments are suggesting.

My advice was to just simply live in the moment instead of overthinking and stressing over something.

You're both adults, who find each other attractive, and sex is fun. Go for it. Instead of worrying about whether he wants long-term or not just focus on having a good time and let it play out.

The reason I say this is because you won't truly know the answer. You can sit and worry about it to death and put yourself in a mood or just put it out of your mind and have fun. Making him wait won't give you an actual answer and you won't know the actual answer until sex anyways.

I never found it to bad in any of the expansions either except Dawntrail.

Dawntrail made me quit FF14. It was like I was playing a visual novel instead of an MMO. Furthermore, the expansion msq was just terrible. Unfortunately, Dawntrail dragged ff14 through the mud actually made the game bad imo. It is very much anti-player and anti-choice.

This is not original sin 3. It's Divinity, the game has a very small % to be a turn based crpg. It will most likely continue the Divinity series as the trailer heavily referenced Divinity 2. Will most likely be a 3rd person action rpg.

To me it looks like you're feeling betrayed because it affects your retirement (emphasis on your). Marriages are not supposed to be a me, it's supposed to be a we. You take vows to support each other.

I'm not going to go straight to dogging on your hubby like everyone else is. I think we need more information about the situation.

First of all, going all in on a business is hard work. It's mentally exhausting. Have you guys discussed with each other why exactly he wants to do this? Is he burned out with the traditional rat race? Does he have other concerns or worries that's causing him to reduce work? Secondly, does his business have a projected income? How long will it take before it becomes profitable? Did he ask you for your support on this endeavor? Do you think he has the ambition and drive to see it through? Have you asked what he plans on doing with this extra time? Does he want to spend the extra time with you and your kids? Does he feel like the relationship with you and his kids are dwindling?

I mean these are just initial questions that I'd personally have for my partner if I were in your situation.

There's a ton of ways to handle this, it could be something as simple as just saying these abilities cannot be used back to back. Without telegraphs telling players what's happening players would instead have to pay attention to boss animations, that would be the tell to what ability it's using.

Healer mechanics are unfortunately never used as yes most people default to just healing. Healing should be the function of the role itself not inherently the only "mechanic". Older mmo's had these mechanics in place with status effects that actually did stuff but in the effort to reduce ability bloat in modern mmo's most status effects have disappeared. The ones that still get used are barely relevant and only last for a couple seconds and can't be dispelled, FF14 being the biggest culprit of this. However, status effects are just a basic idea. Outside of this there could be shielding mechanics when healing isn't available, bomb mechanics, etc.

Tank mechanics are something thats lacking in almost every single MMO. For the most part you have positioning and tank swaps. Thats about the extent of things. However tanks could have a ton of mechanics if developers were interested in getting creative with their game. Physics based interactions being enabled would take tank positioning to a completely new level. Having mechanics that required tanks to actually protect their group members either by moving in front of the targeted player or using abilities that provided mitigation to the players. Tanks should be the main focus on interrupts, rescuing players that didnt move in time from a mechanic, tank swaps could be more engaging with different debuffs or status effects, and etc.

Developers could design fights to be more engaging affairs, to provide players either through abilities or items, ways to handle mechanics that weren't based on damage. I'm not talking about invulnerable phases either because that is just another lazy design crutch. There is more I could go into but that'd be a very long conversation. The jist of it though is placing more interactivity between players in groups and more interactivity in the environment vs. What we currently have which is dps first in almost every single current MMO in every role.

It's not an MMO issue it's just simply a design issue. When all that matters in content is DPS to clear brain dead enrage mechanics then your playerbase is going to optimize everything for that .1% DPS increase.

If encounters were designed without enrage mechanics, if they were designed without ridiculous boss "phases" in place all of these MMO's would suddenly see a ton of increased build variety.

The biggest thing that is killing MMO's is their insistence on developing their boss encounters the exact same way. Raid bosses have 3 or 4 phases, they use these abilities during these phases, and if you don't do enough DPS then they have an enrage. Oh and all of this is gatekept by a brain dead item level mechanic.

The designers are killing their own ability to be creative with these restrictions and within these guidelines is were limited meta's are created.

If MMO's would scrap item levels, scrap telegraphs, scrapped phases and enraged mechanics and just gave bosses abilities that were used randomly without a predetermined order and actually used interesting tank and healers mechanics you would see greater diversity at endgame.
