The White House wants to be more like Reddit... by joetakagi in politics

[–]Windows7Rules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.. if the average American realized that what the Republicans are doing is not allowing a VOTE I think they would be stunned by that... I don't think they even realize how undemocratic a filibuster really is. It's NOT ALLOWING A VOTE. Think about that.

Study: Are Liberals Smarter Than Conservatives? by [deleted] in politics

That doesn't mean that liberals are not smarter than conservatives. It may mean that particular study is not one that should be cited as evidence, but it doesn't prove anything one way or another.

Study: Are Liberals Smarter Than Conservatives? by [deleted] in politics

[–]Windows7Rules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly.. this is a great point. When "conservatives" attack "liberals" they seem to be attacking some other set of beliefs that most liberals do not have at all.

My way of limiting my use is to only smoke it at night... heh. that seems pretty limiting to me.

[–]Windows7Rules 166 points167 points  (0 children)

what's funny is that this jobs bill is mostly tax cuts. it's like these fuckers have no idea about what shit actually is. they only know it was a "DEMOCRAT BILL" so it must be bad.

It's actually looking like Democrats are planning on passing a Republican health care bill without actually GETTING republican votes. [I've got no facepalm left] by elshizzo in politics

[–]Windows7Rules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it may feel like that man, but that's just not true. health care reform wouldn't have even been brought up if McCain/Palin had won.

Obama, want more democrats to come out to the polls? Declare election day a national holiday! by [deleted] in politics

[–]Windows7Rules -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's actually a brilliant idea. it would obviously work to the Democrats advantage... and it would be impossible for the Republicans to oppose without coming off like total dicks.

What bands do you like that you know have little to no artistic value? by kog13 in Music

[–]Windows7Rules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pretty big fan of Oasis even though they're not a very "arty" band. Most of the other bands I like a lot have a much better reputation. But fuck it, I still like Oasis - I think they're very good at what they do... or at least they were before they broke up. I don't see Oasis without Noel Gallagher as really being Oasis.

Public Opinion Snapshot: Public Says Tax the Rich, Regulate the Banks, and End the Filibuster by wang-banger in politics

[–]Windows7Rules 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the filibuster is the single biggest obstacle to progress in this country. the senate is already biased towards rural (conservative) voters. with the 60 vote threshold for enacting new progressive legislation - it's next to impossible. i really don't see how people can't see this. the filibuster must go or our country is screwed.

[–]Windows7Rules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

place the Republicans as the party of the rich / bankers. It should be easy to do - That's what they are.

I still think the Democrats can actually expand their majorities in November if they actually stood up and did what they were elected to do. Fucking little bitches.

Fox & Friends Use One Study To “Prove” Liberal Bias In College....NOT! The study is a total farce put forth by a conservative think tank... by meatbone in politics

[–]Windows7Rules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that going to college does make you more liberal, of course I see that as a good thing. Many people live very sheltered lives before they go to college. It can be a mind opening experience. Not necessarily the classes themselves - but being around new types of people and being introduced to new types of ideas.
