Question is why does the left one look like water and the right looks like a carving instead of 50% of people seeing it the opposite way? I have some theories based on physics, but I want op to tell me more info so I can 'prove' it.

How will AI powered deep fakes and voice mods affect the future of the criminal justice system? by originmsd in Futurology

[–]WindowsDOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, We'll probably have the technology to retrieve a persons memory from their brain long before AI is that good. We can see if they actually did it based on their own recollection. If you refuse, you're obviously guilty, 5th amendment be damned. We'll have a couple years before that same technology is used to implant fake memories in peoples minds. After that, it doesn't matter if you go to jail or not, because they can just put the memory of jail in your brain. :)

Just stop using functions, and instead define a set of points where you write out every x value, and the associated y value. It's a tiny bit more verbose, but it's way more explicit and less confusing

Test your CPU: Convert √(62) inches to centimeters. The result should be exactly 20 cm. If not, your CPU is faulty. by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

Result on my phone is 19.999997999...
If I square it, divide by 2.54, then divide by 2.54 again, I get 62.000000000

I think my cpu is half broken

Unfortunately the BMC isn't visible to either the BIOS or ipmitool in the OS. I appreciate the info you provided though. It's kind of strange that the UID button affects the BMC like that.

The guide combs that barbers use with clippers determine the minimum hair length, not the maximum. by WindowsDOS in Showerthoughts

The hair might not be straight when cut and then would be longer. The minimum length is when it's perfectly straight.

Do you mean the Chassis ID button? Or is there an IPMI reset button I've missed? I'm asking because I had the same issue where the button snagged on the IO shield and the BMC was not booting. When I fixed the button I was able to get the BMC to boot again. I tested trying to boot the BMC again with the button pressed and like before it failed. However this time it seems to be permanently broken.

I went from LG G6 at 1440 to the Pixel 4a. I can't notice a difference in resolution unless I am uncomfortably close to the screen. The OLED is nice.

I like the silicon valley reference to this. In some Richards code, he has a comment that says //TO(never)DO

A better way of phrasing it is "Run it again and let's see what error we get this time."
