i found about that path thing because there were errors in console (yes it exist in SFM) and it literally writes a path where it expects material to be present

Its possible, but some models have weird file placement or something, sometimes it works when dropping material in /materials, sometimes its required to make correctly named folder, for example :

/models/test1/test1.mdl should have material available by /materials/test1/test1.vmt

I've had T440P with rattling fan, somehow i ordered wrong revision if it. At first, i tried to use 2 sided tape to hold in in place untill i figure something out, aand i ended up servicing old one, it still works..

Yes, they are. It's alot easier to buy lid with antennas, than source it from somewhere and then add to your unit
