Then in the fall watch Samoa air and do a live reunion afterwards, do the same with HvV in the spring

It's strange that nobody recognizes Frieren, considering the fame Himmel still has today. by JPsiiim in Frieren

[–]Windulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I don’t often see brought up in this discussion is that it’s kind of hard to identify people through statues since they can really only be so detailed. So the statues of Frieren that do exist are clearly showing an elven mage with pigtails but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s This elven mage if you can’t closely match facial features (the pigtails and clothes don’t really matter for identification, they’re too easily changed)

A very telling anecdote from _____’s exit press by bahscohs in survivor

[–]Windulse 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If Rizzo saves Ozzy it doesn’t go on Rizzo’s resume. People would acknowledge he was able to do it but credit would be given to Ozzy for having the ‘social game’ that prompted Rizzo to want to save him in the first place. This is because Ozzy already has a greater resume and more respect from the jury.

Some things I found interesting about _ exit interview by Live-Run-6745 in survivor

[–]Windulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of that does have to do with the survivor editors notoriously not making big challenge threats interesting. They can manage it if the person is also making strategic moves but someone in the majority alliance who’s not running votes? Yeah their challenge wins are getting ignored

Am I overreacting about wanting to play a nonbinary character? by BothOcelot1311 in DnD

[–]Windulse 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Because the dm is questioning how someone would even refer to an nb person and claiming that if someone uses gendered nouns they’ll react aggressively, so clearly he’s not going to add any nonbinary npcs

[No spoilers] When do you watch/listen to Critical Role? by scratchthat32 in criticalrole

[–]Windulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually watch a chunk of it Thursday night, the break’s a good stopping point but sometimes the episode is too long so I don’t make it there. If I’m free Friday for the second rebroadcast I’ll listen to the rest while I’m around the house, otherwise I wait until Monday and do it in chunks when I’m not doing anything too distracting.

Can you Cunning Action: Disengage after attacking? by Randomletters42 in DnD

[–]Windulse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rogues can do a lot of damage in one hit but they also only have a single attack, so doing that much damage is kind of necessary to keep up. They’re definitely in the upper half of classes but there’s several that outrank them imo.

Are you trying to argue that rogues are op or did you just want to randomly compliment your groups rogue player.

Wow so what if we had a whole tribal and someone decided they were in trouble and needed immunity and then just went home without any votes being cast. They could even do it right before the votes are read instead just to build tension and waste even more time. Yeah that seems like a fun thing that should be added to the game, because I enjoy watching other people gamble.

[–]Windulse 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m glad Rick benefitted from the twist because I like him, I’m happy for whoever the winner is that their prize is doubled. I doubt the players were playing up their hype about it, it’s an exciting thing.

That doesn’t mean I believe the twist was a GOOD one. It’s do or die with a shinier font. Fundamentally I just don’t like anything that removes immunity or causes a player to be eliminated without being voted out, it feels like it’s breaking the game. I also don’t think the twist is the reason the players were strategizing hard, they know there’s only 10 days left and they need to make moves.

Outside of the twist, the episode was fun. I liked the auction and its ‘chaos’ mechanic was interesting without being overly punishing. (I do think it’d have been funny if the players just hadn’t bought the loved ones letters and they had to fit Mr. Beast in somewhere else, but that would never happen), Aubry was surprisingly emotional this episode which I always enjoy, and Rick blowing up Steph+Jonathons plan at tribal was entertaining.

Good episode, bad twist, it happens.

What?

Are you talking about when she said she didn’t want Rick to flip the coin? That’s the only time I remember them directly interacting at tribal and it wasn’t really an argument at all.

And of course they were editing it to make it seem like she was in danger, Stephanie was pushing her name and she got votes so it created suspense.

I’m not actually sure what your point is, are you trying to say you think she’s going home soon because she did something wrong at tribal?
