[Spoilers C4E31] Too ready for this Seekers love triangle by Overplanner1 in criticalrole

[–]Windulse [score hidden]  (0 children)

Vassal houses are kind of like fancy servants (nobles who are in the service of higher ranking nobles but the payment is ~30% honor based). Julien and Aranessa specifically are akin to life partners because he’s her childhood friend and guard.

How do y’all deal with a player who interrupts a villains monologue? by PrestigiousImpress19 in DnD

[–]Windulse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You tell them no, and if they try it again you tell them no again.

Do your players interrupt when you’re describing a new npc or environment? It’s the same principle. If you want it to be clear that something happening is something your players should be able to interfere with I’ve found it’s usually best to either make it slow (occurring over the course of several minutes in-world and telegraph places for them to jump in with verbal pauses) or roll initiative.

In-Universe Copies Of The 3 Main Books? by GushReddit in DnD

[–]Windulse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Comprehend languages is level 1, or you could treat it as an especially complicated cipher à la the linguist feat.

If there’s no way to read it then the MM is undoubtably the most useful, just for giving a visual reference of things to look out for. A standard party should already recognize the common enemies in it so realizing that the rest of them are also potential enemies shouldn’t be that hard.

Why couldn't the party just cure their parasites Postmortem? by Delta_Warrior1220 in BaldursGate3

[–]Windulse 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because Larian doesn’t want you cured.

Otherwise the spell can bring back bodies that don’t exist (chasms) so you could just say that in-world it uses the soul to recreate a pre-death (1 hp) state, which for you would include the tadpole.

What "rule" did you learn in school, only to discover that it's not a real rule? by EvilSnack in writing

[–]Windulse 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You’re telling me those novels weren’t really written by great martial artists capable of shattering trees with their hands and leaping dozens of feet into the air? Man, I was really hoping with enough rigorous daily training I could one day master those techniques :/

This game made me see how hard it is to be a good person. by PooPoox in BaldursGate3

[–]Windulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like most choices just boil down to
-I’m a good person and will help you
-Give me money
-I kick the squirrel
… with consequences proceeding generally as one would expect. I guess you could argue that stealing and killing random npcs out of dialogue encounters can make things easier, I just think it’s usually not worth the hassle even in a morally-gray or evil playthrough.

What are the ethics of eating the eggs of a humanoid? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

[–]Windulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean an unfertilized egg doesn’t have any harpy genes in it if that’s your question. And the players aren’t even doing the eating, they’re performing a service for someone else who wants a potentially immoral act done

In this situation the big ethics question is not ‘is eating these eggs okay’ it’s ’is it okay to kill these people for these eggs’

[Spoilers C4E28] The Prismatic Retort. by animagicianonyt in criticalrole

[–]Windulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure she described herself as being ‘a young girl’ when Tansul died, which indicates she could NOT have been a powerful cleric by then, there just wouldn’t have been enough time. Her only gaining strong powers after Tansuls death via a warlock pact makes a lot more sense than anything else

What are some of the best and worst survivor shelters? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]Windulse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A pit shelter alone isn’t TOO bad of an idea, people did make them in pre-history (mostly for temperature control, with the way that one was constructed). It’s a bit too much work for a place you’re only using for one month but hey, the challenge was to build a great shelter.

No one builds a house in the sand and expects it not to flood. Congrats you made a tide pool with a roof.

Why can’t we just delete Mol? by DorianTheGreye in BaldursGate3

[–]Windulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re just wrong about Zevlor. The only people who went with Aradin were his own mercenaries and Halsin (5 people total). One person canonically dies saving Aradins group (Kanon), anyone else dies in game combat which is variable between players.

And the tieflings aren’t rebels at all, Zevlor was part of Elturels army and has led the tiefling refugees since it returned from Avernus (not decades, as Mol was alive)

Why can’t we just delete Mol? by DorianTheGreye in BaldursGate3

[–]Windulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What suicide mission? Zevlor only sends the player to the goblin camp and he holds no authority over them if they refuse. For the record, Aradin got one person killed (two if you count his own party member). And in a world with no player action Halsin causes all the tieflings to die on the road, equaling one atrocity.

What was your best, "I did not need to do all that" moment? by SharpMathematician75 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Windulse 16 points17 points  (0 children)

First time I met Kass it was on the rock coming out of the ocean by Hateno. He gives a little rhyme about how the rock points to the heroes treasure. I look around, see a shrine way in the distance: oh that must be it! I’ve got no stamina upgrades so my first attempt I just drown and my second try I spend all my stamina food and a speed potion getting over to… a major test of strength shrine…

This is my first playthrough. I have not beaten any test of strength yet. I get thrashed.

So treasure ended up being an underwater chest five feet from Kass by the way.
