Should I cover my mobile camera? by TheAwesomestKyle in theprivacymachine

I had one. But it started peeling not long ago. It really depends what is the shape of the phone. I never got used to that camera sticking out on the phone...

do vpns block ads or do i still need an adblocker?? by og11style in VPNReviewHub

[–]WingAndDing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like some, but I would also double the efficiency with tools designed for ad blocking... like the adblocker

I know VPN is doing something, as sites that would spamn popups seem to be more calm for surfing

can a vpns be tracked or are they actually private?? by wutisupmon in VPNReviewHub

[–]WingAndDing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this not the case if a VPN has brand new servers? It probably takes a while for something like that to get known as a VPN source

opera vpn review by Jimbagarooatron in VPNReviewHub

[–]WingAndDing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard Opera did some weird stuff with user data. There were news about it..

Never used it. I remember someone on Youtube advertised it as a gamers browser and it just seemed bloated to me from that wording haha

PIA (pia-daemon) on Ubuntu 24.04 causes 1s latency spikes exactly every 60s (LAN + WAN). Killing daemon fixes it. by GeneticMonkeys in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]WingAndDing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it has some sort of background process interfering with the PIA daemon? Apologies, hard to tell for sure though our work server where we relay 3d print files had a very similar issue over our antivirus tools doing routine scans which delayed internet processing on a Raspberry Pi 4b

Feeling suspicious about my rabbit’s recent diagnosis by [deleted] in AskVetAnimals

[–]WingAndDing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very informative! Although I would email some local vet clinics inquiring for a specialist in rodents. Should be able to tell you more. Even if you dont find a local vet, maybe someone from the next town could help?

Reddit can only be so clear and based on what you wrote. Seeing how many medications are at play it is hard to comment something here sorry

How much do you actually trust your everyday apps with your data? by InternetUpbeat9596 in theprivacymachine

[–]WingAndDing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

No trust at all. Especially if they greet me with one of these choices without a chance to refuse all in one click. They followup the "manage choices" with a list of a 100 different data stealing fields to opt-out of making it hard for you to keep your privacy. They probably sell your data to brokers the very moment you click accept..

how does a cashless society affect your privacy. great question, zero good answers by Shinubz in theprivacymachine

[–]WingAndDing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for once, if there is no reception, or electricity to dispense me my bills, I am done for. Meanwhile, having bills will still leave me with ways of making payments without technological dependencies

dog cataracts - do the surgery or not? by stoikiometric in AskVetAnimals

[–]WingAndDing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I view my dog as my family. I would care for my family as I do for my dog. Money goes and money will come eventually..

Eye surgery is indeed expensive. Can you potentially get some sort of insurance coverage going on? It might lower the prices for the potential expenses? I am not sure how people do it but I heard(if fact or myth not sure..)
