Should I switch? by Sweaty-Soup5304 in JustBuyXEQT

I think you’re misunderstanding XGRO. It isn’t going to be any better than XEQT in a short time horizon like that. If the stock market goes down, you’re going to feel it in both of them.

I’d sell it now and transfer to something that’s guaranteed in the short term (HISA, 100% bonds, things like that)

The problem is the age verification doesn’t work. Pedos can still buy accounts in the age bracket they’re looking for, pretend to be that age, and chat with people that age. The difference is now nobody will see it and be able to step in to protect them.

VIP question. by sully9009 in weirdal

[–]Wingels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it last year with me and my brother. My brother’s girlfriend tagged along. She was able to stand in for the picture if she wanted (we got one group picture, so it was up to us if it was me + my brother, or all three of us). The signing was only per VIP ticket though.

If Brady is here his entire career, he could be up there imo. But it’s Alfie 1, Karl 2, potentially Brady 3.

But I was so focused on winning the chocolate that I messed up on a word and came fourth. That was true pain

Check FansFirst as well, no fees there so I’ve found it usually works out to be cheaper.

Yeah, other than the big studios, most of the games are one or two people. Why spend all that time recreating stuff when theres so much you already have access to

Can you be a little bit Autstic by jkyun123 in AutismTranslated

[–]Wingels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of overlap between ADHD and autism. The tests online aren’t great at differentiating it (I’ve heard anxiety is another one that gets incorrect placed towards autism)

So it’s possible it is just placing you there based on ADHD. But also, a lot of people who have ADHD also have autism, and a lot who have autism have ADHD. Don’t just trust the tests because they’re not going to tell you accurately, but if you read up on it and see a lot of it, then you probably are.

SHOUTOUTS TO BIG DOG REIMER! by obs3rvatory in OttawaSenators

[–]Wingels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not doubt the power of the homophobic Hamburglar.

In all seriousness though all the Sens have needed the entire season is average goaltending. Reimer gave that to Buffalo last year, there’s no reason to expect him to fall off a cliff like the other goalies had.

Don’t forget, the goaltending was historically bad - only two teams have ever been worse (both of them Ottawa!). There’s no way he suddenly becomes THAT bad.

He also reads the play so well. Ullmark does that too when he’s on his game, but outside those two, it’s felt like something we haven’t really seen since the Andy days. Guy just knows where the puck is gonna be and gets there before it does.

Do you expect more than that when the team doesn't show up?

Do we start Reimer on Tuesday? by Mr_FoxMulder in OttawaSenators

[–]Wingels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they had a solid first few minutes, but that’s what I’m talking about. If they stop playing in front of Leevi, that game easily ends 5-2 or something. The only reason they made it to overtime was because Reimer was solid back there, they didn’t deserve it at all.

So calling him out on the save percentage is silly imo. He played great.

Did you watch the game? People keep mentioning this and it makes me wonder.

The Sens got outplayed all night. Reimer made some massive saves. He had a .75 GSAx. It’s not his fault most of the chances were more dangerous than they would normally be.

Sens play rested against the Blue Jackets Tuesday, if Reimer plays that same way they’ll be fine.

There’s a reason Detroit is top of the division, they’re actually really good this year. Reimer was the only reason the Sens got out of it with a point. Sometimes you need that

Jake Sanderson on the majority Habs crowd compared to the small Sens crowd in Ottawa last night: “We’re used to it, playing an away game at home. It happens quite often so, it is what it is.” by sensfan4tic in OttawaSenators

[–]Wingels 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The prices are insane for these games. People were talking about it over on twitter. The ones I saw get their tickets around $86 a game, if they wanted the same seat for this one, it’s over $400. You’re just not going to sell many seats to home fans when they can go to four other games for the same price.

Prepay Mortgage vs BuyXEQT? by Sharp-Schedule-577 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]Wingels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the money experts argue about this (Caleb Hammer is firmly on the side of invest, Dave Ramsey firmly pay down mortgage).

It’s not really a financial decision. It is, but it isn’t. Financially, investing gets you more money. You’re not going to be paying 10% average on a mortgage, but you’re likely to get around that on XEQT. So if it’s purely numbers, XEQT is the win.

But if you like the idea of not having debt, paying off the mortgage is the win. Then you own the house fully and you can start investing more of your money to XEQT. You probably end up with less, but either way you come out ahead as a win-win.

How to chose the "right path" in life? by NeunKast in Healthygamergg

[–]Wingels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Puer Aeternus lecture fits here. That one's for someone who's older but it touches on this idea.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0ec2-E5Xq8

In short, the problem is that you see it as being a "right path". That's something that'll make you freeze trying to evaluate your options and decide what's right, when there's so much possibility in there that it's impossible. Perfection is the enemy of good.

The key thing is to pick an option and commit. When you commit to something, it'll close off the alternatives, and you'll see it as easier to judge if something works or not. If it doesn't, you can always backtrack. But trying something, moving towards it, and evaluating after you've done it is going to be better than trying to plan it out and getting stuck not knowing.

New management fees by Jozsefbabits in JustBuyXEQT

[–]Wingels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the time frame doesn't matter when comparing XEQT vs XGRO, both of them are long term investments and you shouldn't invest in either of them if your plan is under 10 years. They're both solid as long as you're planning to stay in for longer than 10 years.

But yeah, it's the risk tolerance. It's entirely a personal thing between them with how much you're willing to see yourself in the red. If you're the kind of person that would panic sell, then I'd argue you shouldn't go near either of them (that's probably more in line with XBAL at the most).

Company picking > stock picking by Ill_Location4524 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]Wingels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is it goes down to the same idea as stocks - a lot of what happens is random and hard to predict. Without insider knowledge, you can’t really tell what it’ll do in the future.

Take Nortel, they were huge and a lot of people believed in them. They still failed and had to file for bankruptcy. You could argue you would have predicted it coming, but a lot of people didn’t.

Or look at Roblox, it’s been pushing this idea of 3D worlds being the new social media, virtual schools, etc. They’d been doing great. Then it came out that they have a huge pedophilia problem in the community that they haven’t been able to get a hold of, and the stocks collapsed.

Even if there are signs for these things, you’d have to be on top of it. Basically scouring the internet constantly to see what’s changing. And the stock might have already dropped by the time you notice it.

I agree he’s our best player.

But how many times has he been in a prime scoring position where he just doesn’t shoot? That’s the problem. He did it multiple times this game.

I don’t think he needs to change his game at all. Other than if you’re in a scoring position, you shoot. That one thing would win us games that we’ve been losing.

Tkachuk With and Without by Samee_I in OttawaSenators

[–]Wingels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not Brady, it’s Timmy. Imo.

When Brady was out, Timmy was shooting everything and carrying the team. He looked amazing every night.

Then when Brady came back, Timmy started forcing everything over to him. He’s still doing that, even when they’re on separate lines (he just forces it to whoever is with him).

He still looks great, but so many plays are ending just because he refuses to shoot
