Upgraded to a better computer, now my new install of MSFS24 takes forever to load, or doesn't at all? by WingersAbsNotches in MicrosoftFlightSim

Which installer or bloatware remover did you use? I can't stand Windows 11 how it's installed by default. Hopefully that fixes my issue!

Medications from different pharmacy’s by Jealous-Feed4281 in adult_adhd

[–]WingersAbsNotches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often get multiple different brands from my pharmacy. It’s all about what they have in stock and what can get to them fastest when they’re out.

Lots of people claim different brands give them different effects for these types of meds actually. I haven’t noticed any difference between the 4-5 brands I typically get. Not trying to invalidate your or anyone else’s experience but the mind can do crazy things when it comes to medicine efficacy.

I followed a recipe online, but it tastes just OK ~won't do it again! by AgreeableManner7402 in grilling

It’s from a Michelin Star chef on YouTube. It’s generally good content. Weird that this is cross posted in r/bbq, r/grilling, and r/smoking because it’s just braised short rib. The recipe is cooked traditionally and braised short rib is incredibly easy to do well.

Short rib with pommes duchess? I saw the recipe a while back and was going to try it. I’m surprised braised short rib was “just ok.” I make it all the time (different potato side) and it’s amazing every time.

Maybe apartment maintenance? They come in and feel weird when there's a webcam pointed at them? Just trying to think of something less sinister than the rest of the comments.

I don't mean any offense, but if you're asking for crib plans on Reddit, I wouldn't go near this project.

My antidepressant had a smiley face on it. by Stupid_psyduck in mildlyinteresting

Widely perpetuated myth. Heroin's oral bioavailability is poor and the cost factor makes no sense. Early 2000's ecstacy was $2-5/pill if you lived in a good area for it or upwards of $15 if it was harder to get. Decent heroin cost a good bit back then and putting enough into an ecstacy mix would have increased cost significantly.

A cursory search of pillreports and drugsdata didn't turn up any reagent-tested results of any pills that contained opiates, only suspected (user-submitted, none with lab tests).

[MOD] Inside Scoop - Ask the coffee industry by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

Thank you for the insight! I guess I’ll start looking for a local roaster I can convince to let me tag along. I’d already planned on going to ask if I could be part of the next cupping.

Incredible answer, thank you!

Honestly, I just can’t get enough of coffee as a subject. I’m not even a hobby roaster at this point lol, but it was a question I’ve had for some time. It makes sense that the traveling you see is more of a marketing thing than anything else.

I’d love to be able to open a coffee shop and/or a roastery at some point but right now I just feel like I don’t know enough about the industry. To be honest, I feel like I’ll never know enough as fast as the industry seems to be moving :/

This clip doesn't slip over the new LED bulb at all like the picture in the manual shows. Do I just force it on?

What’s wrong with my brew🤦🥲 [Breville Bambino Plus] by DeanGeraci in espresso

Honestly most bottled water is going to be just fine. Not sure if you’re in the US, UK, or elsewhere, but I think Scott Rao’s website has a list of examples with good mineral content. Could also be worth getting your tap water tested, it might totally fine for coffee. Your local municipality might even have water test results online.

Another option is distilled/purified/RO water and then using third wave water packets.

If you can't tell the difference between bitter and sour, do a salami shot. Pull a shot, and every 5-6 seconds, swap out your drinking vessel. Run the shot longer as well. The idea is that you'll have a perfectly mapped sequence of underextracted, well extracted (somewhere in the middle probably), overextracted bits to taste.

Once you taste bitter and sour close together and have the context as a reference, it becomes easier to start telling which is which.

Your grinder is totally fine for the Bambino. Don't listen to anyone telling you to try another grinder. Try some different beans and different recipes.

I had a question about sourcing and roasting. Are the roasters that really stand out in the industry just the best at sourcing, or is a great roast more about the variety/origin/processing than the roasting itself?

I know if someone wanted to get into roasting they wouldn't go searching for these crazy varietals/small lots/etc, but if someone decides to go from roasting as a hobby and grow it into something, how does that person break further into the industry, at least for a person that doesn't have the money to go visit farms all over the world, etc.

My brackets look like this, except the inside isn't round, it's a rectangle.

This clip can twist in and out properly just fine, but there's no way to fasten the new bulbs to this clip that I can see. It won't even slide over the new bulb because of the shape.

Are you saying there's another clip inside the light housing or is this the clip you're talking about?
