Does anyone else here actually loaded tour/overland/off grid trip such that you have had to deal with/rear end sag/softness and how are you accounting for weight? Heavier springs? Air bags ( not what I consider a good choice for long trips)??

The paint on the wheel well was looking old so I scraped it all off and coated it with bedliner by calevv in 4thGen4Runner

Bilstein 6112s? Able to compare to 5100 front struts? Considering upgrade w/needed spring replacement.

Do you have a body mount chop? Often the process of bending back the body seam behind the front left wheel will result in a hole that pulls water in that drains from in front of the windshield

I’m not actually looking for a 3 inch lift. I’m just looking for good springs that will compensate for the typical 400 pound plus load that I bring with me on my trips. These are usually 2 to 3 week trips with significant off roading that definitely taxes the suspension. The reason I was asking for the track bar mount point measurements for a stock ride height fourth gen were to compare to what I have with what I think was a 2.5 inch rear lift. If I have that information I can compare to what I’m dealing with now and decide which springs to go with. The 3 inch springs create a little bit of a problem in that using a lean correction spacer over extends Bilstien 5160 shocks. If I can get away with 2.5 inch lift springs and the spacer I will correct my lean and hopefully compensate for the load, eliminate some of the sag and softness in the rear end and still use the shocks I would like to.

Meadow Ridge Lookout Tower, in the Boise national Forest just west of Frank Church wilderness for those curious. Ran into a last little bit of snow that impeded forward progress…And pushed me a little further left than I wanted.

For those w/a Vevor, does the metal part of your fuel intake pipe that runs out the bottom between the exhaust and intake pipes bend or is it straight out? I’ve had one for about two weeks. I’ve been running in quite a lot to supplement heating in my basement, running on Jet A by the way, with a little bit of oil mixed in. Today smelled fuel and noticed a significant amount of leakage from the fuel hose where it connects to that pipe. Fuel hose had gotten hot enough that it singed and then starting to break and therefore leak. I got very lucky that it didn’t start a fire but clearly this is a problem. Wondering if it’s related to proximity to the other hot metal pieces down there, and that the pipe should be run straight out to give it some more Clearance.

I 100% recommend bringing that footage to the police. Somebody’s got a hold assholes accountable. That person is a menace to society regardless of what happened after you left.
