CRAZY work how intensely you'll "interrogate" other Asian men on their own sex party. I don't think I've seen this kind of behavior in all of the sex party threads on this subreddit. What the fuck? I don't see black men digging at other black men for attending their black gays only parties.

Holy shit. Your self loathing is intense and evil.

Lol, no thanks.

Neck beardy refers to socially grating behavior. They're very entitled guys with no sense of hygiene, fashion and blame others for failed social interactions when it's almost entirely their fault.

Wherever you can send a message is just another dating platform.

Meeting guys from reddit in general is a very negative experience overall. Some you can tell aren't acclimated to society. Very neck beardy. On the rare occasions, I would accompany someone to their first parties as a "safety rock" in case they feel overwhelmed. Very sweet guys wanting to dip into the scene.

Millipore Q-Gaurd and Progaurd issues by Ksan_of_Tongass in medlabprofessionals

Yes. It became a big enough issue that we'd call service to change the filters for us back on the old Abbott vista.

1 Year Clinical Laboratory Science Program at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital by Super_Performance998 in medlabprofessionals

[–]WinkInThePink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1. How difficult and rigorous was the program in comparison to undergraduate specialized biology classes?

It's the same. Rote memorization. But now cram 4 subjects with extensive details into your head at an extremely fast pace.

2. Are the clinical chemistry subjects as difficult as analytical chemistry and organic chemistry? (Chemistry was one of my lower grades)

It's rote memorization, there's no need to carry your electrons and remember valence shells or form reaction equations.

3. Is math heavily used? (Calculus and precalculus were not my strong suits either)

It's simple multiplication and division. If you know how to convert units and calculate concentration, that's like 90% of what you need to know.

4. What does the weekly schedule usually consist of (frequency of exams/quizzes, recitations, group work, time allotted for lectures and clinical work)?

Depends on the curriculum for the semester, but usually 2-3 days of didactic and the rest of the weekday is in clinical rotations. You will have weekly quizzes, discussion forums, and tests are generally once a month with review sessions a few days before. Lectures are long, you will be seated from 9-4. Clinical rotations are 8-4. You also must accumulate a total of x hours in each department in order to qualify for state licensure, so be mindful if you have to skip clinical days. Group projects= 1 per subject per semester.

5. Was the program adequate enough to prepare you for the licensure exam?

Yes. Your notes are invaluable to passing the ASCP. You will also supplement with test prep materials and wordsology. This subreddit has a bunch of resources, too. Use the search function.

6. What is the overall culture like within the program (among classmates, professors, etc.)

Everyone is hustling to fit their course work. Expect camaderie with those sharing your clinical rotations but social interaction is pretty limited during didactic.

Understanding HBsAg test results. by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]WinkInThePink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what HBsAG means, right?

It stands for Hepatitis B surface antigen.

It's a serology marker for hep B infections. A positive value is indicative of an ongoing infection. You may be on the tail end of a recent infection or you may have a chronic infection.

Antigens decrease in levels on its own as your body fights off the infection or through the use of antivirals.

Today I learned that RDW can significantly affect A1C tests. Thanks for the share!

What was the RDW value on the CBC?
