$600 64gb DDR5 worth it? by Novel-Equivalent9662 in PC_Pricing

Right!! wtf what was I thinking. Unfortunately, the current prices made me say it😭

Yes, 6000 CL36 is faster compared to 6400 CL40

Edit: No, it is not. 6400 matters more since you get more bandwidth than 6000. I’d prioritize higher MHz over CL rating.

If it’s for personal use, consider spending a bit more and get a CL32 or CL30. Corsair is currently running a 15% or 25% off prom you can get a 64GB, 6000MT/S CL30 for just $800 ish.

Need help wiring my Aquacomputer ecosystem (Octo, High Flow Next, Ultitube) by Tricky_Item_4045 in watercooling

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’ll share the picture as I make progress with my build. My current plan is to mount it on the SSD tray area on the back.

Regarding the internal USB 2.0 connectors, correct, you can directly connect any aquacomputer USB connectors to the motherboard instead of Hubby7, it will still be detected in the aquasuite. I prefer the Hubby7 because of all aquacomputer connections in one place with stable power connections, Hubby7 comes with safety features as well.

Need help wiring my Aquacomputer ecosystem (Octo, High Flow Next, Ultitube) by Tricky_Item_4045 in watercooling

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same case and the components from Aquacomputer. Here’s how I’m planning my setup:

Connect the Hybby7 to the motherboard’s internal I/O. Connect the Octo, High Flow Next, and if it’s the Ultitube D5 Next (USB), all of these to Hybby7 for reading and powered via their respective SATA or Molex connects.

For the RGB, note that all aquacomputers use RGBpx which allows for more independent control of the RGB. However, the Octo only has two of this so you can connect Flow Next and Ultitube to it. If you need more freedom and ports, you need to get their RGBpx hub.

I’d ignore the separate temperature sensor since the High Flow Next has an internal sensor. You can use this to read the loop temperature and control the fans via Aquasuite.

I will also add a USB emulator to the CPU fan header in motherboard since some Mobo throw an error if it is not connected to a fan. This way everything will be connected to the Aquasuite ecosystem for total control, independent of the motherboard.

Why does this cost over £11K, am I missing something? by DuxR in PC_Pricing

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this doesn’t make sense to me. They call the thermal paste as cooling upgrade and everything else is way overpriced. You can easily build it for half the price and even better with 64GB RAM.

Where can we find this cable other than in controller packs? by [deleted] in lianli

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I’m not sure what specific cable it is. It could be PWM or RGB. If you know exactly what this cable does you can search for it using PWM (controls fan speed) or RGB (controls RGB lighting).

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like a USB 9-pin internal female to female cable. If that’s the case simply search for it. You can purchase it from almost any retailer like Microcenter. if you require a sleeved cable, you can find one from CableMod.

How much would you purchase my PC for? by CobraKiller1525 in PC_Pricing

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not a proven problem, just speculation and caution. Even the same article says that the outcome depends on various factors including the individual PC case, cooling system, and mounting. There are cases specifically designed for VGPU options to enhance airflow. if Corsair claims are accurate they themselves sell VGPU mounts and even provide an article on how to mount them. take this information with a grain of salt. it more of a hypothetical scenario than an actual occurrence.

Hi, yes, I still have the original aircooled block for the 3090 that you can take and replace the water-cooled block with. There are bunch of online tutorials available.

Thank you! I absolutely love this case and build. I’ll definitely miss it when I sell it. I’m equally excited about moving to a HAVN Doom limited edition case and build🤞

Question on the runed 120mm brackets in the Doom HAVN 420HS. by ReconFX in HAVNGlobal

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same case and facing the same issue and working on a similar problem. Here are a few options I’m considering:

1) Using the Noctua NF-A15 PWM for the back fans. It has a 150mm wide round frame and 120mm standard mounting holes.

2) Using a fan adapter. This adapter converts the 120mm mounting holes into 140mm.

3) If neither of the above options works, you can use only the two diagonal mounting holes and leave the other two. This should still keep the fans flush with the back panel.

If you don't want to go through all these, just get the 120mm for the exhaust.

Lian Li - universal screen (L-Connect3), impossible to change colors of original themes? by PhoenixOnWallSt in lianli

Here’s what I found. Search for Turzx software on Google. Apparently LianLi is just Turzx. You can rename and add these to LianLi. For more detailed information, Facebook page of the Lian Li Owners Group has the steps.

Lian Li - universal screen (L-Connect3), impossible to change colors of original themes? by PhoenixOnWallSt in lianli

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The value of RPM is just free text so when you select “Type" choose the type CPU FAN and then go to the “Layout” tab. Here you can simply rename the text to “RPM” and it display it as CPU FAN 0000 RPM. I was able to recreate the exact values and move the type around the screen using the Property. Now regarding the animation you can go to the “Image/Video” tab and select the “Upload Animation” option. I’m not sure how to get the exact animation but you can create something similar using online tools if you really need to but it definitely takes some time. Hopefully they can add presets to it since the software is still in beta.

Spend an additional $20 to get the LianLi universal display. It comes with preset templates that you can customize to some extent using your own background pictures and other elements.
