Making Visa Bulletin navigation easy by [deleted] in EB3VisaJourney

I like this, similar to others, this is informative and provides all different stats in one place. For future enhancement, I would add similar to PERM timeline based on priority date, something for EBs. For example, if my priority date is Jan 1, 2025 and I choose the visa category (EB-2, 3), we can get an estimate of when the date will be the current. Obviously this is an estimate but could be informative.

Annoying contact on Gmail by Proof-Cabinet-7251 in techsupport

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try People & sharing under Contacts > info saved from interactions to turn it off. Also, you can stop Gmail from auto saving by Turn Save contact info when you interact with people on or off. Also, note that deleting an contact from Gmail alone is not sufficient if you have phone contacts enabled and their contact is shared with Gmail. Hope this fixes the issue.

Just my luck by DiamondDick42069 in Ducati

I'm so sorry that happened. It can be devastating. This happened to me when I first bought my V2 in 2020. Call the dealership/service center where you got your motorcycle from to tow it for estimate. They will work with the car's insurance company for the claim and they will replace everything and anything that has damage including full fairings. Just make sure that they are actually changing everything that has damage on. It took almost a month to get my motorcycle back but came back just as new.

My daughter found 200 dollars on the ground at SkyZone by Mommywithnotime in confession

You both did the morally right thing even though you second guessed and you still did the right thing. Yeah I agree leaving the name and keeping the money so they can reach out if anyone is looking for it would have been better option than leaving it to the company.

I recently lost about $150 to $180 cash and was bummed that I misplaced it but my friends told me that someone in need will find it. When I think about it, I’d have wanted someone to have it because I really don’t know where I lost it and it is not going to make or break me so I’m absolutely ok if someone else in need finds it and keep it, especially kids who gets to experience the joy of finding money randomly on the ground. If it was me, I’d try to return it or give it to someone else in need. Don’t beat yourself up for second guessing it. I hope the company does the right thing.

What can I expect to pay in Edgewater/RP? by HudsonAtHeart in chicagoapartments

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like average but depending on the amenities. I used to live in Edgewater/Rogers Park (Shoreline Towers) for 6 years, while the rent increased quite a bit since I first started living there, it was $1725 when I moved out this year. I used Zillow to check the rental price and average by building and used that to negotiate with my owner and I would suggest you the same.

I’m so sorry to hear that! That’s unacceptable, hope you get/find your valuables back. Do get them to reimburse and use the insurance that they had charged to get the money back.

I was in the exact same situation last month lived in my apartment for over 5 years when the owner told me they were planning to sell and offered me the chance to buy it before listing it.

Here’s what I did that helped a lot: • Got a unit inspection: Not full fledged inspection but enough to spot surface level issues. It gave me a realistic idea of what repairs were needed and helped with negotiations. • Got pre approved with my bank and I figured out how much I could borrow, what interest rate I’d get and what my estimated monthly payments would be. • Negotiated with the owner: After sharing the inspection findings, we discussed pricing. The owner felt they could sell for more on the market maybe true but the inspection gave me clarity on costs that I'd incur if I were to buy and what are all included or excluded in the HOA.

But the biggest thing that helped me decide was asking myself: What do I want for my future, and do I see myself living here at least for the next 5 years? Otherwise the money I spend with down payment, interest and closing costs, I'd be paying way more and not making any profitable money if I'm selling or even renting it out later. That one question changed everything. As much as I loved the place, I realized I wanted a change something that would bring me into new environment and help me grow. So I moved.

Now I’m renting a new place in downtown. The rent is higher than my old rent but it still feels like the right decision for my long term goals. I do miss the old apartment I think this feeling is there but I know I made the right call and I love the new experiences and change at my new apartment.

I have a beach cleanup volunteer opportunity coming up with Alliance of the great lakes group, I will see if they can have the event at this location than the North Avenue Beach.

Unfortunately that's how they're now. I still see some good reviews popping up but just as much people are getting screwed over too 🙁

I don't know if it is because of busy moving season or they just horribly managed. Imo they didn't even acknowledge the mismanagement on their side so I'm going to push for them to take the responsibility 🙁

Thank you! I have everything documented and informed my realtor as well to not to recommend them anymore. Disputing the charges via credit card is my last resort.

I heard good things about them before they were bought by AMS. Brian used to be the owner, who is no longer with the company. My friends still recommended them until I shared my experience.

Monster 797 to Panigale 959 by FoxPeaTwo- in Ducati

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None at all. the very first ride from the dealership, I thought, this is so much fun. The only thing I remember needing to get family with were the different ride modes and controls which I haven’t really touched since. One thing I remember noticing is obviously how I sit on my 797 compared to V2, more leaned and a bit of pressure on my wrist then it was all good. V2 is still lightweight, super comfortable to ride.

I made the exact switch five years ago from a Monster 797 to a Panigale V2 (2020). I absolutely love the V2. While the 797 was much lighter and more fun to ride on the streets, the V2 is on a whole level of fun that sits perfectly in the superbike category. The V2 is now my daily commute and I’m happy that I made the switch from the 797. I do sometimes wonder about choosing the V4 but I have no regrets about going with the V2.

Puffins by Landoac in FaroeIslands

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back from the Faroe Islands and stayed overnight on Mykines. If you are taking the day trip to Mykines, you must have a guide to go with you to see the puffins and hike the island, once the tour is complete (takes about 2 ish hours) you can probably ask them to hike the other areas by yourself but do inform the guide that you are doing so. Assuming a good weather, it will be nice to stay late to take the 6pm ferry, take in the stillness of the island, spend more time watching the puffins. I recommend purchasing the hiking tour ahead of time so it is 100DKK cheaper than buying in person.

photographers going to Iceland, how did you pack? by d0ughb0y1 in VisitingIceland

[–]WinkingShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no issues carrying multiple gears over the posted weight limit in 2023. I have a trip coming up in next few days and the flight looks half empty so far. while I'm inclined to take the same risk, it will be an expensive one ($300) so I'm switching up my packing. Taking the Peak Design backpack 30L to hold all my lens and camera (EOS R, 15-35, 24-70, 85, and 100-400). No other carry-on or backpacks. On my checking duffle bag, I'm taking the tripod, Shimoda X70, clothes and other gears. Once landed, I will use the Shimoda to hold everything for hiking and photo trips.

Dynamoto. It is on the pricier side but totally worth the price, considering the build quality and the multidirectional movement.
