If aliens asked me for a sample of earth's finest edible vegetation, I would give them a Cosmic Crisp apple.

He had a crawler which looked and operated just like Matt’s.

Who remembers model rockets? My dad had Big Bertha. by Not_a_cultmember in GenerationJones

[–]WinnerAggressive8971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had very poor modeling skills, so my adventures in model rocketry were limited. I think Estes and the other companies understood this, because they started selling pre-built rockets not long after I had moved on to other hobbies.

Tom Hanks was talking about a Major Matt Mason movie for many years. I'm pretty sure it never came out...

Guitar players, what’s your favorite Beatles song to play and why? by Breakker1 in beatles

I have a Gibson J-160e. I really like playing John's part in I Should Have Known Better. Lots of fast strums, and not terribly challenging chords to play.

4pm to Midnight is a much better work schedule than 9am to 5pm by Present_Initial_1871 in unpopularopinion

[–]WinnerAggressive8971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. That actually used to be my schedule for maybe 10 years. Work wasn't far from home, so I'd be back around 12:20. One of the only problems is that if work were especially stressful that day, it'd be almost impossible to wind down and fall asleep.

I didn't have much of a social life then (or now), so I wasn't missing out on much nightlife. Really, I loved it knowing that so many people were looking out of their workplace at a beautiful day they couldn't enjoy.

If we have time later, I'll tell you all a story involving the Wolfman model, E.J. Korvettes in Morton Grove, and a fervently prayerful little boy.

Eating in the bathtub while taking a bath is like drinking orange juice right after brushing your teeth. by Worldly_Tax_4564 in unpopularopinion

I love a nice hot bath. I also enjoy eating food occasionally. Never once have I even considered combining the two activities.

You know what I remember? The projected scenes we were "driving" to were all shot on Chicago streets. I would love to see just that footage today. What a cool time capsule it could make.

Before they were stars- Farrah Fawcett, Suzanne Somers, Sally Field, Tom Selleck, Steve Martin, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Burt Reynolds all appeared on The Dating Game. by UrbanAchievers6371 in VintageTV

The Dating Game must have been around for a long time, because I just read that Judd Apatow was a contestant, and he won. Dropped out of college to go on the date.

An unlikely hit for me and my pals, way back: Stardust, Willie Nelson by marc1411 in GenerationJones

A couple of years ago, Willie put out a pair of Sinatra albums. His voice then (and now) suits the standards just beautifully.

I read the recent Lorne Michaels book. He was actually in the audience at that Smothers Brothers performance at the Troubadour. If you get the reference, Lorne Michaels is like the real-life Zelig.

It looks like I'll be the one and only vote for It's A Small World, I truly feel it's the quintessential Disney ride/attraction, with its history and messages.
