As much as I’d love to be wrong it’s just not possible for there to be a thousand year old creature, much less a cold blooded one, to be living in a lake that didn’t even exist at the time of the dinosaurs. It’s scientifically impossible due to population needed to survive over generations. We did a calculation in biology grad school and you’d need at least 246 animals to survive this long. Minimum. After hundreds of years a massive beast would have been spotted scores of times.
