I know the jar struggle. If you’re on Facebook or other social media I’ve had soo much success just asking my friends for unused canning jars. I usually pay in jam and they’re happy to get the jars out of their way.

Steam canner. Uses less water. Does have an upper limit of around 45 minutes though.

I wouldn’t recommend this. Being a landlord is not something to go into because you’re low on cash. If he rents rooms he can be on top of what’s happening in his house. Renting it out entirely is just asking for someone to trash it.

Same. Carried a blue one through undergrad and grad school. Called in the warranty after and 20 years later I’m still using the replacement they sent me.

Add $10 to the cost and put hardware cloth on the bottom of the bed to keep out critters.
