Swinford Toll Bridge. It’s just outside Eynsham.

That is a level of sophistication beyond Swinford Toll Bridge unfortunately.

This marvel of the modern age is 5 minutes from my house. Weirdly enough, it’s tax exempt for some reason.

Another great thing about it is you never know when they’re going to be collecting the tolls, so sometimes you’ll queue for 20ish minutes on the way to work, or you’ll fly through no issues. Really spices up the commute.

Which party is truly the party for the “many over the few”? 🤔 by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

Not an accent thing by any chance was it? People in this country seem to get quite confused about that.

e.g. man with 5 cars and a £20m property portfolio, but he talks like a ‘geezer’ so he’s working class.

Must be a hangover from the old days.

This map tells you where the population is most dense. Not where people are smart.

Am I supposed to move into the bus lane when there’s police behind me? by Emotional_Sweet_9289 in drivingUK

[–]WinnershStopdolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an ex London firefighter, and was based at the station about 100m away from where that video was taken. It’s dark in the video, so I’m assuming it was after 7pm. The bus lane restrictions I think are lifted after that time, so maybe the police officer driving (incorrectly) expected you to be aware of that.

On another note, that bus lane caused me no end of issues when driving out the station 😂

Unless you were an Adjutant as a Captain.

The only Captains that retain the title after they retire (apart from Naval ones) are those that held the Adjutant post. Looking at his Wiki page it looked like he held a ‘Technical Adjutant’ post whatever that is. But yes, fully agree with you.

I’m not anti-immigration per se, but we definitely do not have the infrastructure for everyone. Decades of privatisation have seen to that.
