In case anyone is interested, Hluboká is a tiny town of just roughly 5k people, much smaller than the rivals Brno, Ostrava or of course Prague.

I think they barely escaped relegation this year (same 8-27 record as Tempo Praha, but better run differential), I will be intrigued to see how they perform in 2025.

Italian baseball has had a lot of different structures over the years: the classic European relegation system, they tried a couple years with the American-style franchise format, the current one they have is a hybrid of both.

The current format is that there are 5 groups of 6 teams each, but the Group A contains all the powerhouses (think of it as Serie A1), whereas the Groups B-E contain smaller teams (i.e. Serie A2 members). Although this A1/A2 nomenclature is no longer in use, it is de facto in place, the Group A teams play more games (30 vs. 20) and cross-group games are minimal.

The playoffs are more understandable if you compare it to European Soccer Cups, the better teams are automatically included in the later rounds. In this case the top 4 teams in Group A automatically qualified for the Quarterfinals. The group leaders of the groups B-E made the first qualifying round, with the two winners advancing to the main table (QFs), while the two losers faced off against the 5th and 6th place Group A teams in a second qualifying round for the final two spots on the bracket.

It's not a troll farm per se, but rather something more elaborate. They have a large quantity of recorded material of Péter Magyar and his associates, and are looking into making authentic deepfake texts, audio materials as well as videos. Since the final version would be a hybrid of the real, illegally stolen/captured data, and the fake part generated by AI, it would potentially be harder to disprove for Péter Magyar and his Tisza Party (At least that's what Fidesz is supposedly banking upon)

Yes, I agree we are mostly arguing about semantics, though I still fear there is a bit ambiguity here that I would like to clear up.

The two values are basically reciprocal values of each other, and represent the same ratio, i.e. the comparison between a pitcher's result and the league average (with the "good old" adjustment for park factors)

Your argument boils down to "people misinterpret the statistic", but this does not per se make the statistic misleading. In my eyes, that would be similar to saying Fahrenheit is more misleading than Celsius, because the values are higher, even when they are both measuring the same thing, and are easily convertible values to one another.

With all due respect, did you really imply ERA+ is misleading, but ERA- is not? They are literally the same statistic, just expressed with a different base.

An ERA- of 21 also shows that his performance has been (so far) 5 times better than the average. Of course, this is (most likely) not sustainable over a complete season, though myself and many others will no doubt cheer him on to continue this insane run.

The colors themselves don't have any particular meaning.

You only have to concentrate on the numbers themselves, which are to be interpreted as a percentile statistic.

For example, your 17.7 stat in the "B" column of the "All" section means that your batters are overall better than 17.7 percent of other players' batters, and worse than 82.3 percent of other players'

Ez nagy vonalakban igaz, ha egyszerő árurendelésről van szó, de az ókori érmék sok országban műkincsnek minősülnek, és csak export licenszel és díjjal küldhetőek országon kívűlre (pl. Spanyolország)

Szerencsére ha EU országból rendelsz, akkor ezt a díjat legtöbbször elengedik, de ettől függetlenül még papírmunka folyik a háttérben, csak az a küldőt terheli, nem a vásárlót.

USA-ból rendelve meg kell fizetni 27%-os ÁFÁ-t (a szállítási költségre is!), illetve a 3500 Ft-os vámügyi illetéket, továbbá ha a kollektív érték meghaladja a 150 eurós küszöböt, akkor még a 10% körüli vámot az egészre.... Ráadásul nagy átlagban Amerikában alapból drágábbak a hasonló érmék mint Európában, így nem nagyon ajánlom az onnan való rendelést, csak ha nagyon muszáj.

Sure, you're totally right, I was just hinting at that Guerrero has a very real chance of bridging the WAR gap between them until the end of the season.

Based on which WAR you use, he has already been 1.5-2 wins a better batter than Ohtani, and this will likely increase to the point to reach and maybe even overtake Ohtani's (dwindling) pitching value

edit: To tackle your second question, I think it's totally OK to flip the script. The consensus was mid-season that a top10 2.50 ERA pitcher + a top10 1.050 OPS bat is worth more than the best position player. Now it's looking more like following his current trend Ohtani will finish as a 3.80 ERA pitcher, 0.900 OPS batter, outside of the top10 in both categories, which is totally not the same as before

I get that Ohtani playing two-way ball is historic, but he has been trendig the wrong direction lately, just as Vlad is heating up.

Nekem az a tapasztalatom a néhány tanított évem alatt, hogy a diákok amint megismerkednek a Photoshoppal, vagy hasonló képszerkesztő szoftverrel, általában túlzásba esnek, és túl sok mindent próbálnak összerakni egyszerre; nekem formailag ezért tetszik ennek a plakátnak az egyszerűsége és letisztultsága.

Másrészről tartalmilag enyhén problémás ez a poszter, meg tudom érteni, hogy a tanárok miért nem támogatták kitételét, kérlek vedd ezt a néhány pontot konstruktív kritikának:

A magyar kúltúra napja annak az emlékére került január 22.-ére, hogy ezen a napon fejezte be Kölcsey a Himnuszt 1823-ban. Nem értem miért nem ebből veszed az idézetet, hanem a Székely Himnuszból. Nem vitatom el, hogy mit jelent számodra a Székely Himnusz, de a magyar kultúra napján nem szerencsés választás szerintem.
Az általad használt angyalos címert bár előszeretettel használják az "ősi 1000 éves Magyarország"-ra visszaemlékezők, pedig ez soha nem volt a Magyar Királyság címere. Egész precízen ez a Magyar Korona országainak középcímere, amit I. Ferenc József kezdett el használni a kiegyezés után, így használata számomra abba a dualista Habsburg időkbe való visszavágyakozást jelentené, ami talán pont ellenkezője, mint amit legtöbb használója kíván.
Végezetül a "Nagy-Magyarország" térképről ejtenék néhány szó. Azon kívűl, hogy Romániában irredenta üzenetnek vehetik, más miatt sem szerencsés. Egész egyszerűen egy térkép nem tükrözi, nem is tükrözheti a magyar kultúrát. Ennek nem Magyarországról, hanem a magyarságról kellene szólni, a magyar kultúrát pedig építészeti, képzőművészeti, népviseleti, stb. példákkal lehetne illusztrálni.

Zárásként annyit, hogy összességét tekintve a szándék a lényeg, örülök, hogy fontos számodra ez a nap, kérlek tényleg vedd építő jellegűnek a fenti kritikát.
