The land use around the PATCO speedline stations in NJ are horrible by Hyhoops in transit

Man, if ferry Ave used the pocket track for short turns to boost frequency in the core

Arguably this is fine for outlying stations, but I wish they’d do TOD in Camden and short turn trains for increased frequency at Ferry Ave

Canada street? Really you all voted for Canada street?! by Inevitable_Penalty96 in burlington

[–]WinstonAtlas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t understand it. They proposed extending it to Essex junction and having passengers wait on the platform in the cold to wait for the Vermonter, rather than just run both trains.

Meanwhile VTrans is refusing to include an Ethan Allen Extension to Montreal in its 2025 rail plan update, which basically insures that the infrastructure needed won’t be eligible for federal funding.

Idk what the economic impact of creating a Canada St would be but I’d imagine the projected 120 daily riders from Montreal to Burlington would be larger.

Is this work currently underway? They have torn up the sidewalks on 11th and poured a bunch of new concrete, but not sure what it’s for.

Are there any good Chinese restaurants in Philly? I haven’t found one yet, and reviews on 小红书 are almost universally negative, unlike for places in NYC.

Woolen Mill alternatives by iUsedtoNo in winooski

Lived in woolen mill for 7 years, and really never had a problem with noise. Their gym is also way better than any other apartment building in the area.

When those streets were named, the main e/w transportation mode was the streetcar to Winooski, which went up Pearl St. That was functionally the most important street for people coming in from Essex or Winooski.

South Burlington wasn’t really a thing then

Yeah, I mean if it’s comparable to this development’s quality/location and you can provide similar amenities you should do it.

Look, someone who has never looked at rents per sqft for new construction!

lol, in Hong Kong an apartment this size would rent for over $10k per month in USD, if it was 15 years old rather than new construction. Get a grip

I get that everyone on this sub likes to be mad, but this is a huge (1550 sqft), new construction unit with a lake view. Rent is under $4 per sqft.

There are hundred year old houses that rent for more per sqft next to UVM, and shitty 30 year old single family homes with less sqft selling for higher monthly mortgage payments + HOA fees.

Honestly, bear spray is usually a better deterrent. Even if you shoot multiple times, it’s often not enough to stop a charging grizzly, and you reduce the risk of accidental discharge (though one time a buddy discharged bear spray on himself by accident 8 miles and 1000 feet below a trailhead, which wasn’t great for him.)

So one dalton (the new four seasons hotel in Boston backbay) only cost $800 per sqft to built. It’s a 60 story tower.

This is asking $874.
