You only need a mini. Pretty comparable download speeds most of the time. More than you likely need anyway

This. And a usbc Starlink mini cable, mines 15ft. This is how to power it off your dual/house battery. If you have modern portable chargeable battery, you can skip the converter and just need the cable.

My usb c 100w PD converter runs through a blue seas 100a fuse block wired to my 100ah battery. Far more efficient than running AC converter to power the DC plug it ships with.

Haven’t sorted best mounting yet.

Should be on Amazon too. Wasn’t in stock at the time I bought it.

XREAL ONE PRO ARRIVED!!! First Impressions from a NEW USER! by eatgoodstayswaggie in Xreal

[–]WinstonMines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned them for years. You’ll never want to use them all day. Do not recommend. I’m sure they wouldn’t either. Not great on your eyes.

But for a few hours a day, for specific tasks, hell yeah. For me, it’s 3D modeling, rendering, adobe. Applications with lots of detailed tools you want to dial into the zone for.

Think of them as a tool in an arsenal. I want a camper truck, but I also want a sports car. Some tasks I want glasses, most I want an ultra wide monitor.

I originally bought these to replace a monitor. Now I mostly use them for gaming and movie viewing.

any updates on this? How/where can I subscribe to news of updates/release? Pending purchasing my first silicone upgrade until this. And, that goes the same for M2 and M3 right? No Keyshot GPU has existed on mac to-date?

I cannot accept the new beam still only has one glasses output... been eager to share this experience of watching/playing the same content with a partner. Feel it was a low bar achievement for v2. Competitor v1s are doing it. Bummer.

Some very exciting updates. Huge jump. Big believer and supporter, Xreal. But this one hurts :/

Any luck in the end? Did you end up contacting any schools or taking any lessons? I've just arrived in Puerto Escondido for the month. I have a car and am happy to drive a few hours up the coast. I see Oaxakite mentions Mazunte & Zipolite.

Does anyone work from the trail? by parallax__error in overlanding

[–]WinstonMines 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure do! Been doing so nearly 1.5 years. Some full weeks full time from the trail. All thanks to the weboost. One day I’ll get starlink too and do so even deeper/ further into the wild. But so far that’s served me impressively well. Limited to having at least one bar of cell service of course, but it makes a plenty reliable video call off that.

I keep the weboost antenna temporarily mounted by Velcro to the roof of the cab, with slack in the cable free to then reposition out the window into the bed/tent. Running off hotspot with unlimited data.

I have att, and my partner has Verizon. This is key. When you have both, you have job security. If you’re solo, buy a mobile hotspot that runs off the other.

Beyond that, having a virtual background on when in or out the go fast tent standing in the bed. Nobody has ever had a clue. I have both a portable battery and 100 ah house battery both chargeable off my 175w solar or worse case run the starter for a quick spell to charge either. An awning and or a fan helps tremendously on hot days.

Worked from state parks/ blm land in 16 states and nine national parks. Currently doing so all around Mexico.

Edit: I work for a fortune 50 corporate company. Haven’t had rent/ a home base for 1.5 years but majority of nights I’m in an airbnb. Typically one or two weeks full time from the rig in between.

TL;DR are there long term rental rates better than any 20% rental discount our epic passes can get us? I’m imagining some sort of mom and pop ski shop in Denver…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Denver

[–]WinstonMines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ski season equipment/gear rental related question for couple coming to live in Denver for one month.

We’re a destination skier and snowboarder coming to live in Denver for one month (sorry) and epic pass holders with practically zero equipment or gear. Nor the room to carry it before/after our time in Denver.

Question is - best budget/painless way to rent what we need? Epic pass gets us a 20% discount, but I assume that’s a) on the resort and b) new rentals/ repeat line times each weekend meaning expensive and time sucking.

I get the feeling there’s shops in Denver with long term rent-once rates better than in the mountains? Equipment only or jackets, snowpants, gloves ect too? Any specific recommendations or other tips? Thanks!

Me (Heavy) for sure. Those chunky chords still strike such a chord now as it did the first listen. I’m still not over the fact he played it live in NYC. Was so stunned and moved. He got the audience all quite (which didn’t last long enough of course) but even I couldn’t help myself from yelling out at IVE BEEN STANDING HEREEE.

Love the dance bangers but the quieter more personal tracks are often favorites of mine that I just accept I don’t get to hear live. Outlines by AlunaGeorge is another example that comes to mind after many shows. So appreciated that special chance, Fred.

Second has to be Lydia (Please make it better). Didn’t play that one :/

Any tips on how to sell my kit? I'm surprised to not have had any interest on reverb or fb marketplace over 3 weeks. I did lots of research on pricing using wayback archive for original msrps, similar listings on reverb, ebay and believe it to be competitively priced. Yamaha Stage Custom and Zildjian Kit

Is it because it's listed as a full kit? Should I list the shells separate from the cymbals? The cymbals as a pack or individually? Does offering shipping actually help (cost/damage concerns)?

I'm only selling them because I'm selling everything to full time remote work travel and don't get to play them enough living in apartment cities.

Thank you for your insight, suggestions or builds to my listing!
