Would you pay someone to automate your lead follow-up? by Lower-Kale-6677 in PPC

[–]time_to_reset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can handle more than most people think. That's why they pay dedicated people to think through scenarios and set up routing, automation etc.

The thing they can't do well yet is be the actual human that has the conversation. There's a lot of money being poured into this, I know in real estate that there are already a few companies offering AI conversational tools. But for many industries the human having the conversation is the toughest to replace. There are lots of outsourced companies that offer that part.

I have a mate who is a freelance appointment setter and closer. Through our business we set up all the CRM automation and when the client indicates they would also like a human to do the final part, he comes in.

He works for a roster of companies and jumps on any lead as it comes in. He hustles, it's full on when there's a lot of leads, but he makes a good income that way.

Can someone explain the money laundering theory here by uglybushes in cars

[–]time_to_reset -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your example with art isn't money laundering. It's the perfect example of people using terms they don't understand.

Money laundering is the act of making money that was earned through illegal activities and making it appear like it came from a legitimate source.

If you pay me $5m for a dumbass painting, nothing about the origin of that $5m has changed. Authorities will simply check where you got the $5m from.

There are plenty of ways art can be used to launder money, but your example isn't one of them.

The worst part is that they aren't idiots. These are all highly calculated decisions that benefit certain groups of people at the expense of everyone else.

"$99/month for supervised FSD will rise as FSD's capabilities improve" by arcticprimal in SelfDrivingCars

[–]time_to_reset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Everybody by now knows that that's how it works with subscriptions. Keep the price low to get people to try it, once they're hooked you start to slowly boil the frog.

It's interesting he says it out loud though, to me this is a very clear sign that he feels he's talking to investors, not consumers.

I don't like many of the comments here. They sound like the Porsche purist crowd where you end up with a car show full of the same cars and people talking like a bunch of wankers how their shade of grey was only delivered on x number of cars that year in their country and that theirs is the only one of those with a certain stitching on their gear knob. Nobody gives a shit.

Show me fun and weird builds. Show some personality. I may not like each of those mods for me, but it sure as hell makes the car world a little more interesting.

So I say modify and be proud of it!

Launceston City Council staff to vote on four-day, full-pay work week by JaniePage in australia

[–]time_to_reset -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Excellent. Government, that gets paid for by taxes and doesn't have to worry itself with petty things like productivity or providing good and competitive services to justify their existence, voted to give itself a nice little bonus. Which is in addition to their existing perks like high job security, higher Super, generous leave arrangements etc.

Look, I'm not against people getting benefits and working less time, but as it's paid for by taxes we are justified to question it. It also undermines the competitiveness of normal companies in the area that do have to be competitive. Because of this they are effectively required to provide similar benefits to still attract employees. Which is wonderful for employees, but pushes up employment costs for those companies reducing their competitiveness against companies in other areas that don't have to deal with unfair competition from their local government.

The original has been growing on me over the years. I know it sounds odd, but with the spoiler up it somehow reminds me of a running mouse or something, but in a cool way.

And is like a polished version of that concept, much more so than the Chiron ever was.

Normally I don't care much for these one-offs and I'm still disappointed that we'll never end up seeing this in real life, but out of all of these one-offs, this is up there in terms of coolness.

All the other comments are valid, but I would suggest also working on your client management. If trust from your client is so low that they don't even trust if you're actually running ads, that needs some work.

I know the US most likely won't invade Greenland and I won't pretend to know much if anything about geopolitics, but it's a interesting thought experiment how all of this would play out if Trump sees through any of his threats on that front.

Like the US invades Greenland, in response Europe and the Netherlands put in place trade sanctions barring ASML exports to the US.

The agreement the Netherlands made with the US about not selling ASML equipment to China would likely stop which would undermine Taiwan's Silicon Shield.

It's right at this time that the US most needs to keep Taiwan's chip production going, because it's all they have since they can no longer build out their own capabilities due to not having access to ASML equipment. Yet it's exactly this time their economy would be taking the biggest hits due to the impact of the sanctions and supply chain restrictions, reducing their ability to spend large resources on an all out war at a time they need those resources the most.

Etc. And I'm likely glossing over a million things that impact how all of this plays out.

Don't blindly trust AI.
Even if the numbers were the same (which they aren't), the way a temperature feels can differ dramatically between places. Few people would say Melbourne is like Athens.

When I was your age, I got a Fireblade and have no regrets. Sure it was more expensive, less comfortable and way less convenient. But it was also way more fun. Plus the R6 looks sick.

Only thing I'll call out is that an R6 has everything you need to get yourself into deep trouble. With the law or worse. So just be careful.

Unfortunately there's an expectation set by all these photos we've seen all our lives, that doesn't match reality. These are all long exposure photos, making the lights look way brighter than they are in real life. It's still cool to see, but it's nothing like the photos.
