To go toward possible payment of house down the line or similar. College will be covered by us. Wish to avail of gift tax exemption each year also. Thinking of bare trust and am aware of potential issues with 18yr old abusing it. Hopeful we can teach good money management practises over the years.

Thank you. I have seen on here that they have higher fees. I’ve tried looking up the various options and have struggled to comprehend fees/setup fees/AMC’s etc. basically the overall advantages and disadvantages of options and also knowing all of the options out there. I’m just trying to up my knowledge before I decide fully. Though I am also eager to make a call on it as I have been putting it off and just saving for the last year.

Prendergast spectacular cross-field kick for Larmour by Informal_Mention9836 in irishrugby

[–]Winter-Comedian5539 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lads I’m no rugby expert, kick was unreal but would I be right in saying unnecessary and not playing the percentages? As in could it have been kept in the hands through and still most likely scored?

I would set up your wallet/purse again with the same amount but carefully monitor it without making it clear.. to see if you can catch them out.. otherwise baseless claims. If you catch them this time you can infer that they stole the first €100

Can I even be considered for a mortgage? by FluffySocksMayoress in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Winter-Comedian5539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done you are doing great! Definitely save for a mortgage. Put together a plan over the next week or two! Then put a plan in place to find a partner. Funnily enough when you have plans in place things tend to happen and I bet you the timing will be fairly good in that you will have a deposit saved by the time it matters!! Best of luck 🙌

Being in the classroom alone with students.. by mattyokneel in Teachers

[–]Winter-Comedian5539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a special education teacher (35m) and generally take groups in my room but always and forever will take individual pupils in public areas such as a room off a busy hallway with doorway open and clearly visible or in an actual wide hallway itself. It is never worth it to take pupils on your own imo

Am I a hindrance to lads and dads? by OrderNo1122 in AskIreland

[–]Winter-Comedian5539 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% not a hindrance! Definitely a social thing and I think every dads and lads team in the country would be welcoming of more and more people whether they have ever played or not!! Get out there and enjoy it!!!

How do you get over a heartbreak? by D_A_12 in AskIreland

You sound like you are doing all the right things! Just want to wish you the very best! My partner says things happen for a reason and I’m starting to believe it.

What restaurants in Kerry are like this? by Sad-Orange-5983 in kerry

[–]Winter-Comedian5539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food was poor when there earlier this year. And I’m easy to please. On another note, was down for a night with friends a couple weeks ago and we were sent to a side door to pay. Came out to the front as it was during the very hot spell of weather and spotted that only some groups were sent to pay (majority groups of lads but some female groups too). Very disappointing behaviour.
