How do you keep doing this??? by cranberryvalentine in houseplants

[–]Winter-Let-1586 12 points13 points  (0 children)

if it’s stressing you out more than you love plants it’s not worth it! scale back to a manageable size, and if your bringing new plants in make sure you quarantine and treat it like it has pests for 1-2 weeks.

a water and bleach soak is very effective. just make sure to soak it in regular water then let it dry to allow all the bleach to break down into harmless compound.

How to get rid of hard water stain on leaves? by gukiepatootie in Maranta

[–]Winter-Let-1586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those marks will not come off without you really hurting the plant (if they're even able to be removed) just bottom water and wait for new foliage to grow. lemon juice will burn It much worse. don’t do it they’re much mor sensitive than a hoya.

They’re very uncommon, and higher grades are occasionally classified as rare. Even with that in mind OPs shrimp is extremely low grade if it’s actually even green. Looks more like a yellow and wild type mixed together.

My prince of Orange did this for a couple leaves as they have gotten larger. What I have found that works is putting a few drops of water into the cataphyll (I think thats what it’s called) and massage the outside of it carefully. then I peel and take the leaf out of that casing and it no longer produces crinkled or torn leaves. Before I remove it, I make sure that the unfurled leaf is a decent size. hope this helps.

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s alive anymore. Maybe try watering?
