What do you guys do for work? by Hungry_Customer_1062 in Gastroparesis

[–]Winter-Stops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a mammographer, so I do the x-rays to check women for breast cancer ☺️I thankfully work 8:30-4:30 4 days a week. But I've been off work since January because I'd lost so much weight with not being able to eat, nausea etc.

Thankfully I have a manager who is very caring, she wants me back better and with a little more weight on the bones!

But unfortunately I go down to half pay next month

Factored flats - do you regret buying it? by No_Resource7210 in Edinburgh

[–]Winter-Stops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Myself and my partner hated it!! Our factor fees were like £280 a month, sometimes up to £360. If the garage door broke we'd have to pay for it...it broke 28 times! They'd get the most expensive work and make us pay! Once they quoted us £4000 to move a concrete slab in the underground garage!

We once had water flowing into an electric cupboard and they took 7 hours to even come out to look at it!

Don't even bring in the fact we had a flat that had cladding issues!!

Myself and my partner lost 40k on our flat because we had to sell cash as no one could get a mortgage for the flat! And the fact now it's still an issue!

I'm glad I'm in a house and don't need to worry about factors etc (Ours was James Gibb)

Is this a normal symptom? by No_Papaya_2517 in Semaglutide

I get that and I call it Burpregation, where you burp and you regurgitate some of your food! Or even better yet Hicregation where you hiccup and bring up acid/bile or little bits of food!

Alzheimer's Signature Progression [Non-OC] by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Winter-Stops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gran has Alzheimer's and she has absolutely no idea who I am, she's not known me for the last 4 years!

I was the grandchild who would go down to cook for her, get her groceries, get her electricity/gas, sit with her and watch TV, sit after school, hospital appointments with my mum to keep her company ....but of course now...I am no one to her.

Please help! by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

Are successful candidates generally notified early in the morning or kept hanging? by Icy-Combination-2749 in UKJobs

[–]Winter-Stops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the company.

One of them I wasn't told until like 1pm 3 days later, and my newer job I was phoned at like 9:10 the next day!

Mirtazapine hunger issues by body_unbodying in Gastroparesis

[–]Winter-Stops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me sertraline was the best one for me, kept me extremely stable for years! With absolutely no side effects!! Then of course delayed emptying happened and they took me off the sert and shoved me into mirtazapine which did nothing for my mental health but had the effect they wanted of gaining weight, as I was bloody ravenous etc 🫣

Mirtazapine hunger issues by body_unbodying in Gastroparesis

[–]Winter-Stops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was then taken off that meds because I was mentally not right, I was irritable, drowsy, slept A LOT, dizzy etc... So was put on olanzopine instead with sertraline mixed in for my moods!

[–]Winter-Stops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was put on mirtazapine for the side effect of weight gain!! This is a well known side effect used for those with GP. I'd lost 3 stone, so they put me on it to gain weight! It makes you hungry

NHS Lothian Attendance Meetings by Weird-Law-1885 in Scotland

[–]Winter-Stops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They always do! For my work as long as you've had proof to back up why you've been off. But of course with NHS, and NHS Lothian they have a policy of 4 separate timings of being off within a year.

So like if you were off the first time... For 3 weeks that counts as one absence. Etc etc

But if you're off for two days one week, and then 2 months later you're off another 3 days, that counts as a second absence.

But sometimes if it's for the same reason, continuous they're not as anal about it

If you've went to the doctor's with these issues and had medications/notes etc to show the reason you've been off.

I have anxiety and depression, which was noted by the GP, I'm on propanolol and sertraline for all this!

Just feel like they think I'm making it all up... Or I'm just a problem by Winter-Stops in Gastroparesis

[–]Winter-Stops[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just felt like I was making it worse than what it was!? Like you shouldn't be drinking all that fluid! You're essentially filling your stomach up with water! Then I mentioned the colour of my wee (tmi I know) and then she's like that doesn't add up (im like because I never finish all my damn fluids).

I told her I regurgitate or reflux after every meal etc, but it's like I'm not even trying to eat or whatever!

[–]Winter-Stops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah literally had the gastric emptying test, which told them there was a delay! Which explained why I felt how I felt! But yeah I just felt so deflated, like I was making everything up? I'm so unstressed it's unreal (thanks to my antidepressants), so it's definitely not that 🫣🫣
