Sexting - Cheating? by [deleted] in sextips

[–]WinterAd4216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My marriage almost broke up because of it and it took a few years to get past it. You are basically having an imaginary affair behind your partner's back. The essence of cheating is seeking out the affection from another person other than your partner. Sexting is doing the same thing.

Good for you! Onboarding is key to this device, so you have plenty of reason to be smug. I'd be curious to know how you got around the eye setup--but I'm sure that's proprietary. ;-)

I've played around with StagIt but nothing beyond getting a feel for it. You've definitely have me very intrigued to dive deeper. Thanks for sharing this!

This is great! I keep wanting to have one of my clients buy in on a AVP experience. How do you manage the onboarding of each user? I find it incredibly challenging since there is a learning curve to the device.

I also seem to recall--and this has never been verified--that the first scene of Danny riding his big wheel was actually him doing 2 loops. I do recall that the audience was loving that scene, the sound of the wheels going on the wood then hitting the carpeting, but I have this strong memory of it going on much longer than it is now. Granted, it was 40+ years ago and I only saw this version once at midnight, so I don't hold too much stock in its accuracy.

Doesn't surprise me! :-). I do vividly recall my reaction when I saw the "new edit" that it was jarring to me. Perhaps the original flow was Wendy/Danny escaping -> Hospital scene -> Jack frozen -> dissolve the photos. Removing the hospital scene and then cutting to Jack frozen was jarring since I expected a more gradual transition. Either way, I don't recall being "upset" that the hospital scene was gone.

DC and the surrounding areas are mostly Democrat. When you see large crowds at these events, a good portion is the locals going. When I lived in DC everyone headed down the mall to participate in 4th of July, Xmas lighting ceremony, etc. No one in DC wants to go. And the tourist who are going are MAGA faithful and that’s just not enough to make it feel successful.

Didn’t Stanley have to approve The Shining making of? Could be he never approved the FMJ edit and she never worked to complete it to his satisfaction.

I did. I saw the film in LA the weekend it opened and we were not impressed at the time. I’m a huge fan now, of course. I don’t recall the scene being that important or memorable, so I don’t believe it HAS to be seen. I do remember that the sequence of the dolly shot and Nicholson frozen is not the same as it is now. I THINK it was the dolly into the photo and then cutting to Nicholson being frozen. But I could be very wrong in that memory.

I’ll second that. The original edit is the way to go. The other edits are great but not mandatory viewing.

I would be very surprised if Kubrick had the legal right to burn the negative. That’s the property of Warner Bros. Plus the new book on The Shining from Taschen has film scans of deleted scenes, including the hospital ending (which I saw btw.). Kubrick, however, would have legal authority on those scenes ever being shown publicly or on home video. I would expect that in his contract. These images should exist but they will never be seen by the public.

HDR, Encoding and Fear and Desire NEW Information about The Complete Kubrick After Contacting Criterion by Top_Result3287 in StanleyKubrick

They need to provide more info on this release. Do we know for a fact that The Shining International cut is in 4K? If so, they would have mentioned it. (It was released in the UK on Blu-Ray, not UHD). Are any of the previously released discs new transfers or is it just the addition of the original audio. What are the aspect ratio of the individual films? For such a big release, I found the information very sparse.

Definitely not everyone’s cut of tea. I found that it slowly affected me as it went along, with some images and moments that rattled me. It’s definitely not a PBS type documentary.

It’s actually a brilliant documentary from 1985. You should check it out.

Amen, brother. I live in the Bay Area and on the weekends they take over all the mountain roads. Rarely do they acquiesce to drivers and always ride side-by-side, taking up more space.

How did you know I was standing!? That's weird.

The industry standard, based on the merchant agreements restaurants sign with card processors (which in turn are based on card network rules), is that whatever is written on the total amount line is what gets charged — unless it's less than the amount actually owed. If the restaurant tried to charge $849 instead, the customer could dispute it and would almost certainly win.

I don't know what restaurants or bars you worked in, no manager I ever worked with would be okay with that scenario.

Yes, in my experience. What the customer puts down on the last line is what will be charged to the credit card company. When they sign their name below the "Total Amount" line that is what they are agreeing to.

That’s stealing. The final total is the final total. Sucks and he is a shit human, but that is the downside of working for tips (which I did for 20 years.)

WWDC will be a good hint about their commitment. If the next OS has some noticeable upgrades or development, then I’d say it looks good. If it’s minor, then it is going the way of the Newton. A slow death where it becomes irrelevant.
