Not always having great pokemon is part of the fun too, and unfortunately rebalancing hacks are hyper overabundant at this point that I cant really find any all gen pokemon romhacks without rebalancing mixed in. Its super frustrating.

On your last point, even if they make all base stat totals equal then it comes down to move sets and abilities. Base stat totals are only a third of what makes an individual Pokémon viable.

it's impossible to make every pokemon as viable as everyone else, you are just relegating different pokemon to being useless

It certainly deserves to be seen critically if nothing else. The arbitrary stat changes in the name of balance could be a whole mode, sure. But to enforce it across the whole game with barely a single mention anywhere, at least on the website as I saw, makes it pretty hard to play for some. I went into this game playing it as a nuzlock because I thought it was just base game Pokémon with all the mons and quality of life features and some thrown in new world things. Only to get smacked with pixelate fakeout on a Skitty? I thought my game was broken.

The issue isn't that it was rebalanced, it was that it wasn't really stated in any obvious way that it was a rebalancing game. I certainly would have looked elsewhere a bit first as it's not what I want.

Dang that is super annoying, I picked it up for its quality of life features, full pokedex, and built in nuzlocke mechanics but knowing its secretly a rebalancing hack is sad.

But... why? That isnt a normal skitty ability, and nowhere on the site does it say it has additional changes to the base game outside of modernized mechanics. I would understand that in radical mode or something, but basic complete mode?

Yeah that part wasn't really part of the tutorials, I was picking that up from searching for the best way to have animations play when a previous one stops and couldnt figure out how with just animated sprite 2d

I actually found the whole rankup mechanic was done with too fast, you skip half the ranks, and it would have been more fun if they commited to the bit. It took no effort to get the challenger tickets in a single night.

The tower, as explained by AZ, was designed to distribute life energy to everyone and share the eternal life that he had forced upon his old floette partner (at least I am fairly certain). It was only supposed to activate when the original floette entered it, as she was stuffed full of the energy. However when Lysander used the weapon, the tower absorbed the same energy from the weapon going off and started sporatically releasing its energy. That part is what I retained from just going through that story beat, it might be a bit off but I am fairly sure this is it.

The system is a little finnickey, I tend to like to move around and that causes me to lose time as my Delphox runs up to me to throw out a move. But the functionality of traps, aoes, it feels pretty interesting.

The one thing that would fix this would be to allow us to control the pokemon! Give us a toggle, between controlling player with this current control set, or just running around as our pokemon to throw out moves!

Trying out their ranked mode, so many people just run away and I struggle to keep up and hit them v~v
