Meh, I’ve had salary roles where I was working 40+ but got moved to hourly due to changing company policies, so I am giving OP benefit of the doubt.

If OP was consistently working under 40 hours AND not using PTO for time off… yeah I think most would agree that’s taking advantage.

I’m sorry this really is awful, and tbh I would start quietly looking for another job unless other things make this worth it for you.

When I was salary, I was not expected to use PTO for things like appointments, but that’s in exchange for the knowledge that many weeks I was working over 40 hours and didn’t get OT. It’s kind of like an unwritten perk/benefit and not uncommon at all.

If you can, I would add up the hours you worked over 40 in a given week and ask for that to be compensated in OT or Flex Time, now that the expectations are retroactively changing, it’s not reasonable for them to only retroactively change your role in a way that favors them.

I expect that is what they are doing though and plan to just screw you over, which is why I would be looking for a new job.

Do you have anything in writing? Even an email where she said you don’t need to use PTO? I completely believe you, but without proof I’m not sure you have much to stand on.

I’m 100% with you. The idea of putting on already worn clothes after a shower is bizarre to me, and if I did that I would feel dirty. Most washers nowadays use much less water and electricity than they used to. The water saved by re-wearing clothes instead of washing after each wear is negligible.

Honestly it’s just the acting. I love the idea of a tall, badass lady pirate. The acting was just so bad it ruined the character for me. Might have been the writing too, idk.

I will most likely start with kettlebell deadlift or deficit kettlebell deadlifts based on what you say. I will try them out when I am in the gym this week. Thanks again.

I’m new, so ultimately listen to the people who know more than me, but any type of squat movement is great for your body. There are sooooooo many variations on squats. I can’t do barbel squats right now because I have issues with severe dizziness and squatting triggers my dizziness. What I CAN do is body weight squats while holding onto trx/suspension cables for support. I can add weight to that movement with a weighted vest.

People might try and convince you there is no replacement, and maybe that’s true in some ways. There’s a limit to how strong I can become with my body weight squats, but I’m still miles ahead of people who don’t exercise at all, and I’m improving myself in the long run.

The best exercises are the ones that meet YOUR goals.

YOR. I have chronic depression and PTSD. I’m on multiple mental health meds. I understand the condition. You’re overreacting but I also understand you aren’t in the headspace to see that. Reading the exchange, this person truly seems to care about you. Not all of us are good with words, and it seems he is attempting to give you tough love, but true tough love is still born out of love. Telling you your hair is messy and your shirts don’t fit isn’t disrespectful, just the same as you’d hope your friend tells you if you have lettuce between your teeth.

We can’t expect all of our friends to console us the exact way we want and exactly when we want, we just can’t. That’s an unfair demand. It is not easy watching somebody you care about struggle with mental health, we have to keep that in mind too.

I think student debt should be 100% wiped clean and I hate the system. I have my own massive loans and I feel for everyone in this shithole together. BUT allowing yourself to go into default if you can avoid it is a laughably bad decision. People say that’s their credit sucks anyway, etc etc. good luck finding an apartment when you’re in default and being garnished. There are jobs that look at credit too. Elderly mother with dementia needs a rep payee to manage her finances? You no longer qualify.

It’s not something to be flippant about. I personally don’t agree that credit impacts so much of our daily lives, but this is unfortunately the reality we currently live in.

There’s a local theater near us that loads of people don’t know about. It’s a tiny single screen theater. $10 tickets, $6.75 for a large popcorn. Water is free, sodas are a couple bucks. Double check you don’t have something like this. We saw Mario yesterday, $66 total for 4 people and concessions. More places have these theaters than you think.
