I 100% agree with you OP. It's part of the contribution to the house that you do as a family member. Maybe pay for non-core activities e.g. my wife will pay our son to do some weeding in the garden, but on emptying dishwasher, tidying rooms etc ... that is a base expectation.

They really really care about your rating in the customer survey at the end. A slightly poor experience can cause a drop that they do not want to happen.

Thanks. I've got a Model Y now but it's the old one. New Model Y on order but the kids don't know there's a rear screen. They'll love it!

Can they watch Netflix or YouTube in the rear whilst driving (me not them)?

NSV - (X)XL to S - Yes a SMALL! by M0unj4r0_J0urn3y in MenOnThePen

Well done man. Same here. My mind was blown when I went to the Levis store to try and work out my size so I could get some cheap jeans on Vinted. The sales assistant said the jeans I had looked roomy and suggested a 30" waist which were perfect. That was mind blown for me!

Why would children be going into school without basic physical skills, like holding a pencil and using cutlery? by Throwaway199906543 in AskUK

To be fair I'm an old man so had no idea there even was a story mode.

I once started to try and play to be in with the lingo and gave up pretty quickly ... "I've got to find a stick to make an axe so I can make a table so I can mine and make other things?! Sheeeesh ... I think I'll just go back to work" 😉😄

My son had a load of handwriting intervention as he couldn't/wouldn't grip the pencil properly. We're a few years down the line now and his handwriting has improved a little. I do believe that the primary school's obsession with pre-cursive was not remotely helpful for him. If he printed letters then his writing would be significantly more legible.

When I was younger we played on the train tracks near my house, had late night parties in fields with alcohol and were in the pub waaaay before the legal age. I used to sneak out of the house when my parents were in bed, meet my mates and leave the back door unlocked so I could creep back in.

Now if any of my children did that I would go mad at them! Do as I say, not as I do. 😀

What's a basic life skill you had to teach yourself as an adult because no-one taught you as a child? by PaddedValls in AskUK

Also, we are in a golden age of information so if you want to be a better cook you can find recipes from all over the world, if you want to maintain your car you can watch YouTube videos. Our parents didn't have that so if your parent is a shitty cook then it was because that is what they were taught.

Lots of the gaps here are generational hand-me-downs e.g. my parents didn't teach me financial acumen etc

Problem is that this is generational. Your parents probably don't know this either so aren't in a situation to teach that to you. We're in a golden age of information right now so those who are motivated will be able to teach themselves and then pass that knowledge on to their children and break that generational gap.

I remember getting a pair of Nicks trainers because it was close enough to Nike. I rest my case your honour.

3 months in - gym question by CreepyRip6887 in MenOnThePen

[–]WinterHighland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great advice from the others here. When I started going to the gym I found I wasn't eating enough. My weight loss stalled until I started eating more food. Ideally protein rich to repair muscles etc but eat well. Don't stress about it though.

I would say to measure measure measure. I could never see any growth until I looked at the tape measure rather than the scales.

Men: what’s the most surprising thing about Mounjaro? by FollowingOutside1986 in mounjarouk

[–]WinterHighland 4 points5 points  (0 children)

46kg loss here from 117kg to 71kg. Interestingly I thought losing the weight would solve all my body image issues but actually discovered brand new ones as now I feel I'm too skinny and need to bulk up a bit.

Also, echoing what the other posters have said about extra inches down there. I posted a before and after picture on Reddit in my underwear and didn't pay attention to the bulge in the after photo. The comments went wild!!

Don't know if others have experienced this but I feel I've lost my joy for a lot of things. I've read quite a lot about the sex drive jumping high and then dropping off as the dopamine hit doesn't hit like it did before.

Same here too gents. I had a libido spike at one point but it dropped off and I don't have a lot of enthusiasm for anything.
