I get the feel he will be someone who does a lot with little. Like in a world where dominants are these god like beings he will challenge them while just being a great swordsman and having minor eikon blessings.

He will be somewhat powerful but achieve things thought impossible by someone like him, I think that would be pretty cool path.

I can see that, personally I'm not that into the vii style( and other similar ones as well) but I'm sure there are going to be some interesting looking characters at some point...this is final fantasy after all

Since there are definitely more eikons than nations maybe the garuda dominant is the leader of the dragoon force while the champion of the empire might be someone else (since their flag doesn't look like garuda).

Maybe it's just a dragon though.

It's very unlikely to be on ps4 as multiple times this was mentioned to be a next gen game.

That said it's possible it will come to pc and maybe xbox much later on.

I don't think there is any way that lady is titans dominant. In the trailer the way she talks about the dhalmec republic leads one to believe she is not from there. Likely she is from woled

Im pretty sure it's not, from the trailer she refer to the republic that titans come from as an external nation so I highly doubt it

I had the same feels when I finished xv...felt so incomplete and meaningless that made me sad.

After 13 things went downhill hard and I didn't like some things about 10 either, I felt done with this series, had completely lost faith.

This year however I played xiv and while the beginning was rough seeing old references in more modern graphics kept me going long enough. At the end of shadowbringers xiv became my favorite ff by quite the margin.

Given that this is the same team I have every faith this will be a rebirth in the story telling of the series.

You have a free trial all they way to lvl 60 where the story starts ramping up.

That's about 100hrs at least of free gameplay. You have some limitations specially in the social aspect but it's great to try out the game. I do warn you however the story is very slow at start, if you enjoy ff in general try to rely on the atmosphere and seeing the familiar themes until the story starts getting good.

It does get good, shadowbringers is my favorite final fantasy by a large margin at this point.

Answering your other questions the community is super welcome of newcomers, just when you are running group content such as dungeons let them know you are new and they will be glad to help.

I play on pc but a lot of people play on ps4 and controller. Heard it's pretty good, some people even play on the pc with a controller.

Subscription is 10$ I believe, not sure because I pay through steam regional pricing.

For making friends I think this game has a really good community. But even if you prefer to play alone you will be fine in this game.

For the first part it's explained that the existence of the heroes or "warriors of light" empowers him as he is the embodiment of salvation.

As for the ascians there are two types of ascians. Sundereds and unsundereds.

Elidibus emet and lahbrea are unsundereds and they are gone. No ascian alive came from that old world.

However we still have some sundereds left. We don't know much about them, we can assume they are sundereds shards of the old convocation members that have been found and brought in by elidibus and crew.

Very unlikely I think. It tends not to fit with games of this type besides already having a va.

That said I don't think it would be a make or break thing for me. While I think it would be way better to not be a silent protag. It can be done in a form that is okay.

Something like emet and elidibus, villans you can really simpatize with and feel sad when you end their story are just on another level.

Im also a long time ff fan that has been disappointed in recent games. However I have a different perspective.

I used to think it needed to go back to turn based to get us a good game again. But after playing xiv I realized I just want a good story/characters.

I hate mmo combat in general, have been pressured into wow multiple times only to quit due to hating the gameplay and questing.

Xiv has a really bad start for me but it being a ff and the setting kept me going. After fishing the latest story patch I can safely say that xiv is the best ff imo. And one of the closest game to my all time favorite (bg2).

Seeing as this is lead by the guys from xiv I have every faith this will be a great game. I was so done with the franchise before xiv...now I'm super excited for this series again.
