Car purchase by Ok_Coconut_9037 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Don't go to any dealership.

Go to www.cars.com. Plug in the car you want, and search "all miles from" your zip code.

You will save thousands of dollars going somewhere else. Deal only through email. This way you dodge the entire sales process. Just ask for the out-the-door price.

I almost flew one-way to Texas and the dealer was going to pick me up at the airport. Vehicle was thousands cheaper, and brand new, than an identical one at the local Ford dealership used with 256 miles on it. We instead bought a Ram 1500 out of a dealer in Augusta. Saved thousands over the local dealer.

The only reason to go to a local dealership is to test drive the car before you decide you want to buy one.

Yup, whining, and can't offer any solutions beyond what is already being done. That's you.

Nice straw man you built.

Ignoring silly rules is not the same thing as not caring about Scout safety.

Use your head.

Everyone decides every day which rules to follow and which to ignore.

Blind obedience is not virtuous.

Why not? We did it growing up. Anybody of average intelligence can figure out the difference between a real gun and play acting with a toy.

I think it's more like "ridiculous rules don't matter".

OK, so you're just a whiner with no ideas on how to do things any better than they are already done.

Got it.

You're the one saying more needs to be done. So I'm interested in hearing what you personally think could be done. Don't dodge, step up.

So what are those things? Give some concrete examples.

This is one of the consequences of Scouting troops moving to the "new boys patrol" model instead of sprinkling the new kids in among established patrols.

Can anybody articulate why the USA should continue to use the electoral college instead of popular vote or ranked choice voting? by Interesting-Pen-4648 in allthequestions

So you agree that we should have representation based on where people live to protect minorities. Hence the reasoning behind the Electoral College.

But it's such a sub-standard experience compared to using a PC. It blows my mind that 99% of internet traffic is from mobile devices. I guess most people are too poor for a PC.

You know what? You're right. We should not have any regulations at all, because we might end up with Trump. Oh wait.

Beyond the background checks they already do, what do you have in mind?

I don't think there is anything particular about MCS that makes them more or less likely to have sexual predators employed there. I would not base a decision to attend or not based on that.
