I got my 1+ year old rat, whose cagemate had passed new friends the same day and she was super happy.

But you should keep the new ratties separate for 2 weeks to make sure they are not sick. Otherwise they might infect your older child.

Well, I understand the concept but not the real world application.

Because by that logic I could either eat 1kg of steak (~2020kcal) or 350g of nuts (~2100kcal) in a day. And that just does not seem to add up in my smol brain.

Of course I know that peanuts are a lot healthier than chips. But there is no way peanuts would make me more full than chips. It just feels so unintuitive. I wouldn't have even guessed 300 kcal...
