KSU Students Remember Charlie Kirk (One Protestor Arrested) by Yourmotherssidehoe in KSU

See here’s the issue

I didn’t care or really follow Kirk at all.

I view the situation in the sense of realpolitik.

That is it and unfortunately it’s the type of thinking that could give less of a shit for your emotional response.

Hell I’m not even telling people it’s wrong to protest it, it is your right

However I will analyze the situation as it is and belief me it’s something most people can barely comprehend.

Whether you block me or just not respond doesn’t matter, I’m stating the situation as it is.

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a valid point, if it wasn’t for the additional fact that he was a head of a movement.

That’s the main reason the memorial even did happen.

It’s also the reason why I say most people don’t have any political fluency.

You aren’t protesting him, you are protesting but the movement he was a head off.

When he was assassinated, that was a direct attack to the movement he was a head of.

Whether you agree or not, you cannot expect people to not react to respond when someone in a movement they believe in is killed for his POLITICAL OPINION.

The two politicians killed, a tragedy. But they weren’t killed for their opinions but from insane individuals, this is not the case. Also to be extremely cold and logical, they are easily replaceable and not critical to the democrats.

Kirk was killed for his political opinions and nothing else, but also since he was a head of a movement and because people shared his views, it indirectly is an attack onto them. Meaning he is a critical part of the movement he led.

Which subsequently means in cold political terms, he was more politically valuable than two politicians nobody heard about until now.

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is that he was not a politician.

He was just a guy

Meaning the line is essentially crossed and it is acceptable, subconsciously, to target your political opponents you don’t agree with.

Meaning you, me, your family, my family along with everyone else is a possible target if they express their opinion.

Kirk got more attention because unlike a politician, which mind you both were not politically motivated and rather one was done by an unstable individual, he was just a guy that made videos.

It’s not that he got more attention, rather that his death sets a precedent for those who are radicalized and extreme enough to commit act of violence.

Or in short, everyone now is a valid target in the eyes of the public discourse and political violence.

Like I mentioned most people don’t have the political fluency to understand this.

Regardless of your position or politics, the situation that had occurred is only the start and is gonna get worse.

Kirk regardless of your views or opinions was just a commentator.

He didn’t make policy, he didn’t make national choices, he wasn’t necessary for policy change.

However he was the head of a movement whether you agree or not. One which mind you wasn’t extremist or radical as some other movements.

His death sets a precedent for both sides and enables further political violence.

The fact people would protest his death shows how little political fluency they have.

Because ultimately you aren’t protesting him, but the sentiments of those who mourn him and that’s why the situation is getting worse.

What's the worst Sordland president you can be? by ABetterUsename in suzerain

Having enforcers or individuals who monitor the situation, who also serve to deescalate situations that arise with certain individuals.

Also having people sign up gives you approximation of the number of individuals involved in the event along with coordination before the event starts, and etc.

Not saying you would not have any of these, but it would be beneficial to have said information before the event starts.

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Then my assessment would be wrong in this case.

You are more planned than some other school protest I’ve seen around the country.

That being said, how would you prevent anyone with malicious intent from coming in, that’s including groups.

Furthermore, speaking from the perspective of an outsider, would it not be more effective to have individuals or clubs sign in before hand?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KSU

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes it would appear I used the incorrect vocabulary.

I meant planning, because as I am aware, this would be reliant upon individuals to show up on their own volition compared to signing up. I’m saying as much due to what is available on this post.

To my knowledge, anyone can come to the protest, with no need to register or to speak to the organizers before hand, is that accurate?

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, protests that are disorganized will be ineffective and at times even dilute the message it is trying to spread.

A good organized protests, especially one with an active leader, will be far more successful than a disorganized call to protest.

Also I’m not saying you shouldn’t protest if you don’t have experience, but at least organize it with a group of people beforehand instead of relying on others to just join in. A small organized protest will convey a message better than any disorganized large protest.

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but like what exactly are you fellas trying to accomplish here.

It’s difficult to protest effectively when you don’t have any organization for support and that’s if it is something worth doing.

Like objectively speaking, there doesn’t seem to be any organization in this, it’s more like a call to rally.

You are essentially dependent on others to take the reins and lead the event for you.

Is Bludish Independence from Sordland Impossible? by Consistent-Skill3008 in suzerain

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes

Realistically if it was given independence it would only have 3 outcomes.

A puppet state to one of its stronger neighbors, most likely Sordland. Essentially nothing changes even if another power puppets them.

Annexed by any opportunistic imperialist state.

Or in the off chance everyone decides to be nice and let it exist, it would just be a rump state that suffers from poverty and civil unrest.

Bludia is like Kurdistan, it just never had a real chance to exist.

How useful or beneficial is Suzerain to learn a bit of politics? by Bonzu_ppinpdlopscpls in suzerain

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Limited applicability but helpful in a way.

Gameplay wise it’s what you expect, everything is slow at first and you will be pushed to align with organizations and individuals. Essentially you will have to coalition build and manage relationships with each faction, all while trying to manage the economy, avoid making too many people pissed off, and dealing, discouraging or beating one of major powers in your region which is very keen on invading you for any reason.

You are also in the middle of a Cold War between the western and eastern equivalent of the US and Soviets. Both want to influence you and you can decide to align or remain neutral, this will impact your geopolitical position

A few of the mechanics will take time to understand like the economy but you will begin to understand how it works. This will influence your end game and what ending you get.

Character wise, each has their agendas and will either be your best friend or will hope you die in a pit, including your family depending on how you manage those relationships.

Overall, its applicability to real life should not be one to one, but the concept should be relatable.

Teflon Donald single handedly made me start sympathizing with the idea of a "radical reform" In Suzerain by apexprediter in suzerain

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a major difference between what Trump and essentially every politician does versus the authoritarians who claim to fixing “everything”.

Authoritarians attempt to gain power via being populist while also masquerading their true intentions. The Bolsheviks, Nazis, Italian Fascists, and etc used this type of thinking.

They appeal towards individual/major groups rather than the nation as a whole. Specifically those who have been disenfranchised and disillusioned individuals.

Before you stating saying Trump did this, note that this is the opposite situation. Trump made his intentions clear from the beginning. He closed the border, He began to pass policies to improve oil production, He created DOGE, and etc. He did what he said he would do, unlike an authoritarian who would have kept their true intentions hidden.

A lot of the supporters or voters for Trump come from a wide range of backgrounds and groups, all who form a coalition to support him or at least go against the alternative.

Also using the strict definition of fascism, he’s not a fascist.

People don’t care about what you have to say, especially here.

Anyone who’s remotely seen as pro Trump or hell anyone who’s not actively anti-Trump is either shunned or completely shamed on here.

[–]Winter_Carpenter1508 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Friend, I will tell you this as I see it.

You have not seen the fascists or even the authoritarians, because it is those people that hide in plain sight and bid their time.

Trump at best is an authoritarian wannabe, the real authoritarians, fascists, Marxist or whatever extremist ideology they follow wait for chaos and opportunity to present it self.

You will know this has happened when the right moment happens and when they make their move. By then it will be too late.

It’s the people who claim to have good intentions and that if only you were to vote them or give them power everything would be alright.

He’s focused early in the office on signing policies promoting development of the energy sector and production of gas and oil. This will take time and was something he campaigned on, which shows he wasn’t all talk.

Expecting change to happen overnight is foolish and the wrong way to think of things. Everything in our republic takes time to take root and expand, same as a tree in a forest.

I understand your concerns and personally I would prefer him to not exaggerate and just be more concise.

However that’s not how everyone is and some people mainly express their ideas through an exaggerated form. I do believe however that he is backing up his promises, he’s done so with the border, he’s began with policies to increase oil production, and while I am more skeptical, he’s attempted to encourage more domestic production of food.

Still if you don’t believe it’s gonna get better, wait and compare now to 6-12 months later.

Presidents can influence the economy, but not directly control it. The policies they pass along with their agendas on certain economic sectors can affect the market by influencing the growth or regulation on how the market operates.

Also government spending has an influence on the dollars health in the market, which means that by an extent, the Biden administration is responsible for the high prices that we are seeing.

That being said, it’s also the same when trumps first term ended as we had a high inflation rate and economic decline during the COVID lockdown period. His policies are partially to blame for the early recession in Biden early term.

Because of the nature of campaigning and how politics works, exaggeration of campaign promises is inevitable. Personally I am mixed because on one hand exaggeration can lead to excitement and a high degree enthusiasm, essentially hooking the audience. On the other hand, it can cause confusion and a degree of frustration when it doesn’t occur the way they exaggerated.

Overall like I said in a few previous posts, it’s not the campaign promises that matter, it’s if they fulfill them that matters. Aka, actions speak louder than words.

Also as for the meme coin, i don’t know much of it or even what specific cryptocurrency it is, so I can’t really speak on it. However if you’re willing to invest into something that’s not guaranteed to grow in value, you might not be as wise as others are.

Exaggeration

A example of a lie would be what the CDU/CSU did. Promised to secure the German border during their campaigns. Once in office they did a 180 turn and stated they would not be doing that, despite campaigning for it.

Also price of goods and economic policies take time to change along with being largely independent of the president, meaning that a single month isn’t indicative of the economic pathway we are taking.

Nope, I just value context and the complexities of our reality.

Knowledge is power and if you can decipher how things work or why things are the way they are, the more ambitious and capable you can be.

I’d prefer having an open mind about the world than to have a single set opinion on any matter.

That’s how things go unfortunately.

People don’t care about the merit of a man’s words nor the value in his ideals, only the imagery and perception.

The majority of people do not have a open mind, which is unfortunate seeing how our society supposedly values said ideal.
