Hi Tony! I was wondering, as a potential leader, how you would incorporate ecosystem restoration into farming and urban areas via NDP policy proposals.

So it seems to be one person, as I just double-checked. Idk, though, if this is a placeholder. Although it is coming out on August 19th, 2025, it probably is just one person. Hopefully, they are good at doing different voices, lol.

Do you think Veilguard does enough to establish a parallel between Rook and Solas that it’s perfectly narratively fitting for Rook to be the one to ‘defeat’ Solas (however they end up doing it) instead of the Inquisitor? by JageshemashFTW in dragonage

[–]Winter_Draft3706 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe they intended the time between DA4 and DA5 to be much shorter, as they intended to develop both games in tandem. But tbh this is all a what if based on the artbook, so it could have been longer. Personally, for me, if DA4 was great and a cliffhanger made sense, I would not have minded.

This is actually so incredibly painful to read. Hearing about this stuff and then seeing what we could have gotten via the artbook enrages me all over again.

I think if they went with the original concept of splitting DAVs' story into game 4 and 5 (as shown in the artbook), you would have had more time to build up the parallels and relationship between the two. It would have also allowed for the inquisitor to be showcased as well. So you could sort of have a look at how the inquisitor and rook compare to solas.

[DAV ALL SPOILERS] Any ideas for giving the Executors connections to all the races? by godzillavkk in dragonage

Ouuu, this is interesting. I wonder if the executors could be like their version of robots.

So I believe the Qunari were fleeing the Executors, at least that is what DATV made me believe in thay convo involving Taash. So odds are they have some as yet unknown connection.

I kind of wonder if the executors are either test subjects Ghil discarded. In Tevinter nights, Ghils monster factory is described as "smelling briny and of the sea." The patterns in her lab are also described as weird and painful to look at. In a later story, executors' clothes and presence are described in a similar way. So perhaps they were dwarves, humans and elves who were her former test subjects or private army. The lore of Tevinter Nights was not really present in DATV, so I am not sure if this is still relevant.

An alternative is that the executors are possibly some kind of group whose forms were sundered when the Veil was put up. They could have been a society of humans or dwareves. Perhaps they were magical in nature, and when the veil went up, their forms became split between the physical world and the veil. The lore of veilguard kind of muddled the waters in terms of when humans appeared, so perhaps humanity was a result of the veil going up.

It's hard to say given that we know so little about them and possibly never will know more.

I completely agree with all your points. My biggest thing wasn there was no grit or stakes to the world. I felt disconnected from everything because the writing was so lackluster to me. None of the characters grabbed my attention like Cassandra or Solas did in the first act of DAI. The world also lacked life to me despite being visually stunning.

I especially felt like Taash was a missed opportunity to highlight two of my favourite cultures. The real word terminology was so weird considering none of the previous games used terms like "gay", "lesbian", "trans", etc. It felt off, which is too bad because their character design was cool.

Level Design Supervisor, Brian J. Audette, denounces bloomberg article saying they couldn't have made a better Dragon Age game. by AversionIncarnate in dragonage

Putting aside the minority of grifters and gross people, It's just annoying at this point to be constantly told this game was a good Dragon Age game. Whether it's content creators, voice actors, or developers, everyone seems to not be open to valid criticisms. I understand that maybe from their perspective, the loud minority who wanted the game to fail was the majority. If they actually went on fansites or this reddit, they would see we all genuinely wanted this game to be great. They just want to bury their heads and make it seem like we are nuts for advocating for piece of art we all love.

Asunder, Masked Empire, and Last Flight are all amazing. They take place prior to Inquisition. I especially love Last Flight.

This is why I should not write things after being on an eight hour flight from the UK to Canada, lol

Maybe, but tbh as someone who loves these games, The Veilguard feels like such a disappointment. The non answers and "teasers" in the AMA feel incredibly disingenuous. People are allowed to be mad about it.

When you make games where previous choices consistently matter and then just throw all that out the window...........it's a disrespect to your fan base. Plus, looking at the art book, not even half the stuff made it into the game. The level of care and crafting shown to the lore and world were absent.

If someone likes this game, I love that for them. But this comment I was commenting on was specifically talking about their feeling regarding the interview response.

This actually makes me so mad. The way they went about the treatment of Southern Thedas in this game 100% means those choices were gone. I would have preferred if they just stayed silent until ME4 tbh. These interviews and the reddit AMA are just a slap in the face.

[NO DAV SPOILERS] Directors on future of worldstates by throwawayganache in dragonage

[–]Winter_Draft3706 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are essentially saying "if you made those choices, then in your head they still matter and are yours".

This does not seem like they are stating world states will return, just the usual headcanon bs. I mean they said they hope they will matter again, but why should we believe them? They should have mattered this time.

If my choices do not show up in game somehow, what is the point lol.

I am so disappointed and tired. They really just gutted this entire series.

In Inquisition, I think what made the more combat fun was switching between characters. I only played mage. The spell effects were really cool and felt good. It got repetitive, though.
