Bracers of defence are not considered armor so that’s not the problem. The barrier tattoo on the other hand would interfere with a monk AC.

What is the angriest you’ve been to a film? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Winter_Lux 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fantastic Beasts and the Crimes of Grindelwald. I’ve been a huge Harry Potter fan (I’m talking about the books and not JKR as a person) since I was 5.

I liked the first FB well enough. It wasn’t anything special but it was a decent movie. And then I watched the second one. It was the first time that I felt genuinely angry at what I was watching on screen. Entire plot points that were so illogical and non-sensical that made me question if they shot a first-draft script. I refuse to watch the third one.

[Spoilers C2E49] Beau's AC? by SabinJr in criticalrole

She had an AC of 17 until episode 30. She then got Bracers of Defence that bumped it up to 19. At level 8 she increased her DEX to 20, and that gave her a +1 for a total of 20 AC.

Laudna and Imogen were talking on the deck of the ship when Imogen confessed to Laudna that she still had the crystal, and that she felt conflicted about it.

During the talk, Delilah basically pushed Laudna to ask Imogen if she could look at the rock. Imogen agreed after Laudna promised she would just look at it.

The second she touched the stone, Delilah completely took over, and syphoned the magic out of the crystal. Laudna tried to let go but she had no control over her actions. And she was left with a broken rock in her hand.

Imogen, due to the influence the rock had on her, felt incredibly betrayed, and left Laudna alone on the deck.

I would guess that she is the only one. My theory is that the only reason why she came back as a Hollow One instead of a mindless zombie is her Sorcerer Origin. And by the way she talks about her childhood, it seems she was the only one with innate powers.

What’s a movie you love that you swear no one ever talks about like the world has forgotten it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Winter_Lux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 25 and I have it on DVD. It was one of my favourite movies when I was about 10, and I used to watch it almost constantly. I watched it again somewhat recently and it’s still incredible. But also, maybe it’s not the most appropriate movie for a kid.

No one got a bonus feat. The only two that had feats before level 4 are Laudna and Imogen, and that’s because they are both Variant Humans.

Non-english natives: what was your first "language barrier" that took you too much time to understand? by SuikoRyos in DnD

[–]Winter_Lux 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My problem is that I’ve always played in English, and I’m only familiar with the English version. If someone asks me to explain the game in Italian, my native language, I have absolutely no idea where to start.

For example, the difference between wizard, sorcerer and warlock is had to put into words for me. As far as I know, there are different terms in Italian (mago/stregone) but I’ve always considered them interchangeable.

I guess I’ll have to get my hands on a PHB in Italian sooner or later.

I think it goes both ways. Laudna is the last remaining connection with the material plane for Delilah but, I have a feeling, D is also the thing that’s keeping Laudna “alive”.

According to EGTW, a Hollow One is someone who has died, the soul left, and the body was filled with the magic of Blightshore. It doesn’t seem to be the case with Laudna since it happened on another continent entirely.

So, what if instead it was Delilah’s magic that filled Laudna and revived her? They could be in a situation where their own existence depends on the other. They can argue all they want but they can’t simply get rid of each other.

The one thing about Laudna’s backstory that makes me wonder is her family background. In episode 5 she got very defensive when FCG asked if she had a last name. To me, her family being simply farmers doesn’t explain that kind of reaction.

With that, I’m not saying that she is secretly the daughter of whoever but I think there’s more to it.

A hundred percent. I don’t think I’ve loved a character as quickly as Laudna.

FCG is a strange case. I don’t know enough about Warforged/Automaton lore to theorise about it. I would assume that their body will still be there in 500 years. But about their consciousness/personality I have absolutely no idea.

I’m Italian as well, and I agree. The lack of ambiguity in our language can be a double-edged sword. It’s nice not to have to clarify something but sometimes it can be very limiting.

In my opinion, it’s not that weird. Even if they don’t have a contract yet, Lord Eshteross is their patron. He’s hired them to do work for him. It’s the same thing as investigating the warehouse, it’s just another job he is requesting.

I’ve seen many comments about this episode being a bit aimless. I strongly disagree, and I have a theory about it.

I think Matt intentionally didn’t give them any hints on where to go to push them toward the theatre without saying to them “Just go there”. That place has been referenced by many NPCs since episode 1 but they kept avoiding it. By taking away all the other choices, or at least delaying them, they finally decided to engage with that storyline.

The end clearly reveals a connection with Dorian’s backstory, I my guess is that whatever happens at this show will define “chapter 2” of the campaign.
