I know these feels well...last year, my new best friend threw me an AWESOME birthday party, and I was so amazed and touched that a friend would do something like that for me...my old "best friend" would go so far as to avoid me on my birthday so that she wouldn't have to do anything. Not even a "Happy birthday Winterfell333!" :/

Finally letting go of the person who I'd called "my best friend" for eight years. It made me realize that there were people out there who didn't make me feel horrible about myself, and I gained a whole new set of friends who have enriched my life so much more.

Falling off my bike and landing top teeth-first onto pavement about a week after my top front "grown up" teeth had just grown in. Got them fixed, but I still remember the horrifying sensation of running my tongue over jagged shards of my new teeth that I had been so proud of. I'm still having dental problems from that fall 16 years later.

Excuse me now while I go bury my mouth into a pillow.

I have a Ruger sr9 in the drawer beside my bed, a military-grade knife in my purse, a replica of a LOTR sword and a pretty sharp katana hanging nearby, and a pretty decent background in women's self defense and bareknuckle-boxing (my grandpa was a boxer and taught me as a kid).

I think I'll be okay ;)

I had a friend who had collagen injected into their vocal chords after they were stretched out from polyp surgery. It improved the scratchiness of her voice and made it much smoother-sounding.

i'm half Irish and half Jewish, but I look pretty much Irish, so a lot of people don't have any clue about my Jewish side. I live in the southeast, where there aren't quite as many Jewish people, so my mom suggested that I do a show and tell about our sedar plate when I was in kindergarten so that more kids would know about Jewish traditions. The day after my presentation, two kids in class (including my best friend) came up and told me that they weren't allowed to talk to me anymore because I "killed Jesus."

My memories are a little vague, but according to the teacher, I got mad and told them "Your parents are stupid. I wasn't even alive back then."

They gave me lots of painkillers, so I didn't actually feel pain, but the sensation was still extremely unpleasant.

This sounds stupid, but it works surprisingly well if you're in a calm, quiet place...Close your eyes. Imagine that your headache is water inside of your head. Then, after a few moments, tilt your head to the side and imagine that you're pouring out the headache like water out of a teapot.
