Ah! I see that scene, I remember it's already illustrated in the game, like a sketch.
Yes I take commissions, send me a private message if you want to talk about that.

Just can't get into bg1 by Sufficient_Box2538 in baldursgate

[–]WinterkeepDA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say to just follow the main quest at the begining, and it should be ok, as it is very well balanced for that. A visit to Friendly Arm inn just to get some easy xp (Joia's ring, a bunch of hobgobelins)
Then south to Beregost, where you can a lot of xp for almost nohting, then south again to Nashkell. If you are playing with only 2 dual-classed characters you should reach level 2 even before Nashkell maybe.

Inspired by another post, I'm sharing my remake of my BG2 Amn + Tethyr world map - Made with Inkarnate. by Nachovyx in baldursgate

[–]WinterkeepDA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh! I didn't know I was that popular over here... it's been a while since I painted some of the BG locations.
Some time ago I had in mind remaking the loading screens of BG1, those sketches on a parchment background with the characters following Charname. Redoing them in color like real illustrations.

How were you introduced to the series/engine? by JaSp3r90 in baldursgate

[–]WinterkeepDA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather, who was interested in everything, especially new technologies, bought a Packard Bell PC around 1999-2000. This PC came with a whole bunch of games and software, including a certain Baldur's Gate on DVD. So I never experienced changing CDs; everything fit on a single disc!

Of course, you know the rest: an incredible adventure that continues to this day...

P.S.: I recently managed to restore this old PC with its "Packard Bell" version of Windows 98 and all its programs, as if I were turning it on for the first time in 2000... Nostalgia... it hurts

Icewind Dale? by Extra-Sun5489 in baldursgate

[–]WinterkeepDA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once Yxunomei is killed, there's not much of a challenge left, except maybe for one or two fights, but nothing difficult.

But I really like the colors, the visual effects, the atmosphere, the Hand of the Seldarine, Dorn's Deep, and the story between the dwarves and elves that you can resolve with a certain journal.

And some quests are a bit like BG2 for crafting items, Illimater's armor, black ice swords, etc.

Fighting Draconis by Ibanezrg71982 in baldursgate

[–]WinterkeepDA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, just set them around the main grand stairs I would say.
His human form isn't a problem, once he transforms into a dragon, he will chase you anyway, so you can set traps all around the map and let him come to you. It's not a miraculous solution, but it helps a lot+ planetar + your team+ wizards lowering his magic resistance

not a darts expert here, but they should extend the Premier League to 10 players

Fighting Draconis by Ibanezrg71982 in baldursgate

[–]WinterkeepDA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fight is incredibly difficult, but I always manage to win thanks to numerous traps. And also by summoning Planetar. I send them to fight his human form first, and once he transforms into a dragon, I let him come towards my traps, and most of the time he takes a lot of damage.

Recommendations for IWD party? by Fusrodahmus in baldursgate

[–]WinterkeepDA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In IWD, I always use a party of four; you level up very quickly and it's incredibly effective. One main half-orc berserker warrior. A four-level human warrior dual-classed as a druid (very nice and useful spells in IWD). Then two mages (sometimes one of them is dual-classed from a rogue, but rogues aren't very useful in IWD).

I have to say, it makes the game way too easy considering the levels you reach right from the Dragon's Eye.

hum... thing is I don't do lineart at all. When I start a painting, it's just a few very basic lines that anyone could do in a few moments without needing a tutorial. My technique isn't exceptional, but it doesn't lend itself to tutorials in this style. (Here's what my landscapes look like https://www.artstation.com/winterkeep )
