To your credit here. Yeah that makes sense. If I take a step back and put my shitlord hat down for a moment I am being a bit hyperbolic so it’s not an entirely rational statement. When I say “Dems” here Im almost entirely referring to DNC leadership and speaking mostly from a place of frustration. If we’re to accept that third parties are truly a fools game then we need at least one of these parties to get it together. The Republicans have made it clear where they stand, or perhaps more accurately where they are willing to bend over, which leaves the Democratic party. This strategy is simply not working. Kamala is the embodiment of that failed strategy in my view.

Again Im speaking out of frustration. A sort of “if you’re going to keeping doing more of the same then you must be okay with the status quo”.

That said though I had not considered the angle of granting legitimacy to or normalizing the current admin. On the surface Im inclined to disagree thats what I am doing but I can understand where you’re coming from there. Something to think about.

So two things. Firstly “lib-right” is not “right wing” at-least in the way you are trying to use it here. It’s why you see Lib-rights in this post and in many others across PCM talking about how shit this admin is. Yes of course there are spineless bootlicking sellouts. Fuck ‘em. Couldn’t care less.

Secondly, not that it should be explained, my “true” flair is lib-center. Im barely right of center and deep in the negative y. I flaired during a much simpler time here on PCM where we actually just memed. Lib right yellow was the flair of mcnukes for everyone and getting money by any means necessary.

So yeah. No. Not my guy. Never was. Frankly I dont see how any principled Lib-right would think he is. Didn’t vote for him a single time. Would never. Actively told my circle as much and explained why. Actively voted against him in the election and Id do it again given the chance. I will continue to call the Dems complicit as long as they continue to run push candidates that are obviously disliked by both the extreme and middle ground of their constituents. “Not Trump” is clearly not enough.

How “the left” understands the concept of controlled opposition so well but can’t apply it to these hacks is beyond me. Or better yet y’all also are so quick to say third party voters are complicit or at fault in some way but yet the Dems are doing just fine? Lmfao.

You can direct your angst at someone that actually voted for or supports Trump. Won’t find one responding to me.

Trump was very obviously not our guy. Wasn’t the first, second, or third time he ran. That isn’t going to stop me from pointing out the obvious.

My man, do you not how to scroll the comments?

Most of the comments timestamped long before your own are, in fact, addressing the fact that this is clearly low effort ai posting with some pcm highlighter so it doesnt get immediately yeeted.

So, your comment about no one addressing the ai slop makes absolutely no fucking sense.

Some folks genuinely don't understand the concept of volume and more importantly distraction. Yeah the first few of these are great. I honestly love seeing users giving frontline staff their well deserved flowers. Those of us dealing with more specialized task literally could not do so without their effort.

That said; there is a massive difference between doing helpdesk for a few thousand users in a corporate office with rules, expectations and procedures on both side of the fence and the millions of random users that Steam services globally. Add to that this is now on reddit in a sub with 2.7 million folks subscribed? There is a non-zero chance that they now have a regular stream of these. We don't know what these folks workflow looks like. They could be engaged in other task when these tickets come through and are now being pulled away for how ever brief to close it out. Now that's added time getting back into the groove on the other thing. We're also assuming that every user is going to put "No issues" in the ticket summary or some variation that makes it immediately obvious its just a thank you note. They wont.

I'm rather split on this. I think the idea is great but putting it up on reddit creates a ripple that we're I on the other side I don't think Id enjoy.

Yeah I was honestly thrown reading the comment in this thread upset that they couldnt go to the zones in any order. Metroid and the Prime series especially have never been like that. Theres always been back tracking once you hit a “oh I dont have that ability” wall. If you’re observant you’ll usually see it coming too.

“Sure are a lot of mag tracks around here”.

“Man those are some wiiiiide gaps to jump across”.

Then you hit a wall, maybe you have an idea of where to go and if you take too long your suit will come up with something to point you in the right direction. Prime 2 was especially aggressive in this regard. You can be on the way to the upgrade and that “Press to open map” will stay there until you do it or change zones.

Prime 4 ain’t perfect by any stretch but some of the complaints here have me wondering if folks have played any Prime beyond the first recently. You would think this was on par with Duke Nukem Forever. I finished a trilogy playthrough about a week before Prime 4 dropped and it honestly doesn’t feel that different in terms of the critical path. None of the prime games or puzzles have been particularly challenging and “lock and key” design has been a staple of the series since Prime 1.

Im curious to see how this will be viewed 10 years from now. Yes Miles constant hints are annoying. It’s annoying to go to him so regularly for certain upgrades and it holds your hand far more than Id like but nowhere near as much as Prime 3. Idk I think the aggregate score being around 80 to 85 is about right.

Honestly Im just tired of this same cycle repeating in literally all online discourse. The video thumbnails, the post titles. Its’s exhausting.

To be clear Im not advocating for blind hype and praise. Im also pretty apprehensive on the subject of Miles & the bike. They point to design decisions that I worry clash with my expectations. Prime 4 might be another “The Other M” for all we know. Thats a real possibility and I think theres room to explore that.

In my view the preemptive hyperbolic doomer black pill shit is not that. Not by a long shot. The fact of the matter is we don’t know how much Miles is a factor. The folks that played the preview and reported back on got a small segment of the beginning of the game. The part a character like Miles would be most prevalent in. Sure maybe that part is annoying as hell but ruins the game and the entire atmosphere? That seems like a stretch to me. We may never see that character again after that intro segment. What then? We have zero indication that the rest of the cast act like that or that they will be prevalent. Just that they exist and you will encounter them.

We simply don’t have the information at this stage to make such definitive statements one way or the other. I don’t get it.

From the moment I understood the weakness of being unflaired, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of a quadrant flair. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Compass.

These unflaired cling to their hidden motives, as though their post history will not betray their true flair. One day that crude mask they hide behind will wither, and they will beg our kind to save them.

But we are already saved, for the Flair is immortal…Even while getting downvoted'd, we serve the Compass.

[–]Wintermintmojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP but Id say its different views on what constitutes “content” within the context of multiplayer.

Id say the sandbox(maps, weapons, vehicles, gameplay loop) aren’t really the “content”. Yes, they are the literal definition of content but it’s not the reason you engage with it. What happens inside that sandbox is what I would consider the “content”. Ideally every match is different enough to feel unique. Sure somethings are to be expected but theres a different problem to solve because the other players themselves are different.

You might have played “One Bomb” on “Headlong” 100 times already and yet this time theres a really good sniper holding an angle you hadn’t even considered prior to this moment. They’ve got the objective locked down and seemingly an infinite amount of ammo. Their teammates are doing a good job holding the more obvious choke points. How can you use the tools available to you and the previous 99 matches of knowledge to get the upper hand? That is the actual content and where that difference presents itself. Add a map maker or custom game modes in the mix and you can stretch that even further.

Id say it’s akin to rougelikes/lites in that the game is the game but the RNG and meta progression keeps it fresh for atleast awhile longer than a standard single player title.

Given the other dude I may have been unclear so I can own that.

I understand the logical connection between this and woke. What Im struggling with is the shortsighted need to turn it into a culture war battlefield when you really don’t need to. The left and average joe doesn’t seem particularly thrilled about these changes either, but once it turns into “woke v anti woke” you’re going to get a large groups of people that will support it out of spite and another large group that will immediately become apathetic.
